It's all "twin set and pearls" now is it?
Such patronising misogynistic speak. And when talking about eroding child safeguarding.

Artichokeleaves · 16/12/2021 21:40

@barleybadminton

Should we ban goths and punks from working with kids? They often walk around the streets wearing fetish inspired clothing. Who else should got caught up in this puritanical moral crusade? Is it twin set and pearls all round now and anything else is a safeguarding risk?
You have no grip on reality.

You've also, obviously, never worked in a post with safeguarding responsibilities or even basic safeguarding training, or in a responsible post with children.

You cannot wave your sex life and your gun fantasies all over the internet and still stay employed in a position of trust. You can't. No is a word that some people are just going to have to learn to deal with. Some things are not appropriate, and you cannot have your cake and eat it too. Working with children requires understanding boundaries, appropriacy and a whole lot of other things that are apparently whizzing over your head.

EMotion · 16/12/2021 21:35

“Twin set and pearls”? How predictable.

RepentMotherfucker · 16/12/2021 21:34

Gosh MN I certainly wasn't referring to anyone particular. Just musing. And I think the poster who complained had previously said they had no idea what Queer Theory was. All wide eyed like. So I certainly couldn't have meant them.

So I can't imagine why I got deleted?

Are we back to 'you are all prudes' again?

Oh.... it is a puritanical moral crusade now?

Are they offering to display their tits on a public forum,?

Helleofabore · 16/12/2021 21:29

It's hardly exhibitionism, she's wearing a slightly kinky dress, you'd see people in more fetishistic outfits than that walking through Camden Market.

A 'slightly kinky' dress with an inviting phrase such about being the mistress. And a whip I think too.

A provocative pose exposing cleavage asking people if they want to see more of their breasts.

A half naked shoulder picture of them in the bathtub placed as a profile shot over a line up of small girls in party dresses.

And that was all I got to before the account was protected.

This is someone who is supposed to lead the way in teaching girls that porn and sexual objectification can be harmful and how to cope with it. How do they do that when their twitter is all about them being objectified and lowered sexual boundaries.

And yes, exhibitionism is part of it because they are putting it on social media for all to see.

*Yes I just posted one. It's summarised with the data table here: *www.businessinsider.com/what-women-fantasize-about-2014-11?r=US&IR=T

Still got nothing to do with a person with responsibility for minor girls choosing to post photos of themself with guns and wearing a dominatrix outfit.all over a public social media platform.

Unlike this person'sTwitter timeline , the people in Camden Market don't have big signs round their necks saying that they are Girl Guide leaders .

@OldCrone

I think there are people who fantasise about all kinds of things. It doesn't mean they want them to happen in real life.

I do wonder what proportion of women actually fantasise about being sexually assaulted. Do you have a link to a published paper about that?

Sorry could only volunteer with a DBS, which I got.

@334bu

*I think there are people who fantasise about all kinds of things. It doesn't mean they want them to happen in real life. There is a chart here which shows the prevalence of women's sexual fantasies: *

This has hee haw to do with an individual who , while holding a position of responsibility for minor girls, chooses to indulge their exhibitionism all over the Internet.

BigGreenOlives · 16/12/2021 21:18

I wasn’t allowed to volunteer at my son’s school but his form teacher went to prison for having photos of young boys on his work computer (he got caught when it had a problem so the IT dept had a look at it). Please don’t tell me safeguarding doesn’t matter.

Helleofabore · 16/12/2021 21:14

And that should be 'you are' not your.

So, your a queer theorist now barley after telling us it had nothing to do with queer theory before?

So, therefore maybe you can answer the question:

Why is destabilising boundaries as advocated by Queer Theorists of benefit to Girl Guides? Why on earth the destabilisation of boundaries of any sort that involved Foucault is of benefit to Girl Guides?

@OldCrone

But there is a difference between fantasy and reality and I suspect most people who reported they fantasised about it imagined it happening to them, not doing it to someone else.

Just to be clear. You think there are women who fantasise about having a strange man rub his genitals against them while they're travelling on the tube?

According to some posters it very much is.

Absolute rubbish! It's about what you choose to splash across the Internet ! Private sex life is one thing , public exhibitionism is something else!

That would probably be that thing called diversity of opinion. But the issue was the very inappropriate social media.

barleybadminton · 16/12/2021 20:31

Obviously it isn't about what you do in your private sex life.

According to some posters it very much is.
