@QueenSue there was an article recently listing various batshit crazy stuff that’s happened and ironically asking whether the Terfs had planted these individuals to strengthen our position because you couldn’t make it up! That came to mind when I read this. I’ll try and find the article.
@TurquoiseBaubles - the uniform doesn't mean a whole lot IMO (unless it's a GG one) as Airsoft players buy their own kit, and said kit is typically military simulation in nature, just like the replica firearms.

Now if said references to violence are against the GG ethos/charter/whatever, then fair enough. All I'm stating is that to my eye/experience, it's less chilling/less likely to put children at any risk than the BDSM stuff.

(Again, all opinions predicated on the pictures featuring Airsoft rifles, as opposed to actual rifles)
I think its all linked my former workmates did airsoft they posted pictures of themselves all together with big smiles on their faces at the range or whatever its called arms over the shoulders congratulating themselves on a win etc, they would post pictures of their new kit showing just the airsoft gun on a table or something focusing on the weapon itself.

here you have BDSM pictures and lone person at home aiming a gun, thats painting a narrative of violence and contol fetishism IMHO

@TurquoiseBaubles

As YetAnotherSpartacus pointed out on the other thread, the response seems to be to remove all references to 'team' from the GG website!

www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk/who-we-are/meet-the-team/
www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk/who-we-are/meet-the-team/#division
www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk/who-we-are/meet-the-team/#countyteam

That'll solve the problem Hmm

How interesting. Luckily some of us have phones with cameras.

It is a GG uniform

TurquoiseBaubles · 23/11/2021 13:24

KaleKebab, one of the photographs circulating is of this person in uniform holding a gun. If in uniform, it's not a private activity, and gun use or references to violence of any form goes against GG guidelines (and ethos, though the ethics seem to be disappearing rapidly).

catzwhiskas · 23/11/2021 13:21

This is incendiary. The sooner it is dealt with the better. THIS is why women are angry.

KaleKebab · 23/11/2021 13:20

They are probably Airsoft rifles.

It's a competitive game/sport similar to paintballs, heralding from Japan. The rifles, although looking real, fire small plastic balls at regulated safe speeds.

(You could still lose an eye or a tooth, but skin contact is no worse than a bee sting).

Think Call of Duty video game meets paintball. It's pretty innocuous IMO.

(Assuming they are indeed Airsoft rifles)

Plenty of people do it in the UK, so if these photos were dug out of her social media accounts, it doesn't mean that much really.

I'd be more concerned about the publicly shared BDSM stuff myself.

It's one of those sentences that sounds like it's some weird satire, my brain refuses to believe that this is real.

Hoardasurass · 23/11/2021 13:12

Hmm aren't gg currently being sued by a former leader over the trans policy

VelvetChairGirl · 23/11/2021 13:02

is this the end game? get women to shut themselves out of opportunities by fear and intimidation? its what abusive partners do, pressure you out of a job, out of seeing friends etc and then pretend it was your choice.

it all seems similar in terms of tactics, get women to silence and marginalize themselves, the slow drip drip, if you push them out of clubs at a young age that would increase self esteem and confidence. marginalize them at school and make them feel wrong for not conforming to gender stereotypes and shout them down at college or uni for having boundaries and opinions, then you have set them up for a lifetime of low pay and subservience.

Beckert · 23/11/2021 12:59

I think people should pull their girls out of guides, rainbows and brownies. This is not what guiding leadership should be about.

Bonheurdupasse · 23/11/2021 12:35

What the hell

Scraggythang · 23/11/2021 12:35

@GreyhoundG1rl no, but some links posted and various posts were as far as I can tell.

@Scraggythang

I have a feeling, judging by the other thread, this might get zapped.
The other one was zapped?! Angry
ItsSnowJokes · 23/11/2021 12:31

People should remove their girls from GG. You need to hit these people at the core. When you remove them tell them exactly why. They don't listen to emails and letters etc......

I have refused my 2 girls rainbows, brownies and guides as I do not trust these organisations to keep my girls safe.

EyesOpening · 23/11/2021 12:27

Does this person have contact with the young people or is it an admin position? Not sure it makes much difference judging by the photos.

Safe Schools Alliance have tweeted photos, one taken from the aforementioned person’s Twitter account, dressed in the uniform, talking about having been helping at the Scout campsite (presumably used not only Scouts) and mentioning what the girls had been doing.

Chloemol · 23/11/2021 12:12

Unbelievable

How good would it be if everyone refused to send their child to guides now

viques · 23/11/2021 12:06

Email sent to the inclusion address given above.

I was not a gg, never even made it to Brownies, but I think an organisation to encourages self esteem and independence in young women is an excellent principle. Unfortunately the GG appear to have lost their moral compass and are now completely lost in the TRA forest.

What next, Ghislaine Maxwell heading up Scouting?

Rightsraptor · 23/11/2021 11:53

I've complained to GGUK and I have no links whatsoever to them. It's the most basic failure of safeguarding and everyone who cares at all about children should complain also. If allowed to continue this will not end well.

DinoDinner · 23/11/2021 11:46

Thread like this make me hope the Daily Mail are lurking about! This story is so mad it's genuinely unbelievable!

But is it a surprise? Sadly no!

Hiding in plain sight!

Scraggythang · 23/11/2021 11:18

@ScreamingMeMe exactly what I was thinking of. I’m sure there are various other examples.
@Nameyourkidhurricane I think a women in charge of children posting pictures like this would be dragged through the press.
A teacher who had an OnlyFans account certainly was.
