We've previously heard about how the Home Office toilets all went mixed sex, resulting in female staff using the facilities in another building. Now someone in the Home Office sent out an email asking staff to celebrate "Transgender Parents' Day", as well as a similar one recently for asexual awareness. A civil servant who is the parent of a trans teenager has spoken out about how this is not relevant and too politically divisive for work:

and............ Is there a day of the year that isn't a Trans day

highame · 14/11/2021 07:57

What is worrying is that since more information is coming into mainstream, how much has been going on. Even more than I thought. How on earth will all of this get rolled back. It's especially concerning that a backlash could occur and that would be bad for everyone

Yes, it is the staff networks. I saw it happen in my workplace and they are totally totallly toxic. Not just on trans issues but on other areas.

We had a blog intranet blog post on how terrible it was that some people say that trans women are not women and don’t want them in women’s sport.

It got 397 views and just 11 likes but no one dared to make a dissenting comment.

At least it is now called the contraversial stonewall equality index. And people are saying NO.

NO thank you.

I'm wondering if Home Office staff get sent reminders to celebrate Mothers' Day & Fathers' Day too. Bet they don't.

TheWeeDonkey · 14/11/2021 07:46

I just don't understand this bring your whole self to work malarkey. We've just come back full time from WFH and I can barely bring myself into the office. It might be the menopause talking but I have very little interest in my colleagues lives outside the office and I don't share much of mine with them. I really can't think of anything worse, but yeah. This is bad. Living with someone who identifies as trans must be incredibly complex, not really something for party poppers and nibbles in the office. I think its a really misguided instruction from their management.

Stonewall advise organisations to set up staff pride networks. These networks get filled with young graduates and bring militant student politics into the organisation. Once set up they demand and expect access to senior management and to dictate policy that affects everyone.

the staff networks (gender identity networks) are so successful in silencing. they release blog posts about pronouns and trans kids and and implement SW law. Meanwhile GC staff feel silenced. and lesbian feminists are in the closet. I hope the EHRC investigates this

So Stonewall advise organisations to set up staff pride networks. These networks get filled with young graduates and bring militant student politics into the organisation. Once set up they demand and expect access to senior management and to dictate policy that affects everyone.

Senior management think they have consulted as they have spoken to the Red Giards of the staff networks.

Everyone else is silent for fear of the Red Guards.

Toxic. Totally toxic.

Jesus. Have they been smoking crack?
I think it is time to roll back on the bring your whole self to work thing. I reckon thwre should be an upper limit, like bring a MAXIMUM of 80% of yourself to work.

People are beginning to whistleblow.
True AnyOld and its wonderful to witness courage calling to courage

AnyOldPrion · 14/11/2021 05:35

People are beginning to whistleblow. Even a few months ago, the brave parent who did so probably wouldn’t have dared say anything. Now it’s in the papers and the struggles of parents of children being pushed towards medical transition are mentioned. They’ve even mentioned the trans person who is pushing the agenda.

Awful it’s still going on. But I’m grateful that the tide has turned far enough that the parent of the potentially transitioning child felt able to go to the Mail.

"It was sent by Caroline Wild, co-deputy chairwoman of the Home Office’s Spectrum Committee, which was set up to support the department’s LGBT+ staff. She is both transgender and a parent."

Coyoacan · 14/11/2021 01:59

I can't see any parent in their right mind, no matter how much they may subscribe to this ideology, celebrating the idea of their child undergoing surgery, being rendered sterile and having to take medicine for the rest of their shortened lives.

Italiangreyhound · 14/11/2021 01:06

Asking people to celebrate something? I'm not sure you are allowed to require people to celebrate anything?
