I'm assuming through the garbled wordfuckery I'm seeing on twitter that this is people who don't understand language who are using that this is in response to:

a) The BBC article about Lesbians
b) Women objecting to the word "cis"
c) Shut up women
d) Dinosaurs
e) Shut up Lesbians
f) fannies

Meanwhile, my daughter has said girls in her class are saying "down with the cis bus" "cis people are evil", "cis should die" etc

@Millicispud

It's just a descriptor; do people really get bent out of shape by being called cis?

I'm cis, my partners are cis, almost all the women I know are cis.

Good for you. I'm a woman. I don't feel the need to put cis. There are women, then there are trans women.

Not just violence, LITERAL violence.

PrincessNutella · 30/10/2021 15:41

If people want to call themselves cis, they can, but equally, they MUST respect that men and women who identify as men and women have a right to identify as such.
"But if you aren't trans, you're cis."
"You may be cis, but I am a woman."
"But what does that make a trans woman?"
"I thought you said trans women were women?"
"But I mean, if you're trying to differentiate between cis and trans women?"
"I am talking about my own identity. I recognize myself as a woman. But if you want to be called a cis woman, front hole haver, menstruator, birthing body, go to town. That's not for me, however."

Snugglepumpkin · 30/10/2021 15:41

But Cis is a slur when referring to people when used against peoples will.

Just because other people want to use that hateful word to describe me doesn't make it not a slur.

Whatwouldscullydo · 30/10/2021 15:02

Misgendering was violence I thought?

I dont have a gender identity therefore defining me in a way with implies I.have on is an.act of violence towards me then isn't it.

Can't have it both ways

Theunamedcat · 30/10/2021 15:01

Had this discussion with my daughter it went like

(Her)
Its the correct way to address someone its not something you can object to its literally the English language mum!

(Me)
If I respect everyone else's pronouns and how THEY choose to identify then everyone else can respect ME when I say I'm not cis

(Her)
But its derived from Latin! It's correct English!

(Me)
My choice I do NOT choose to be called cis

(Her)
But But But

(Me)
My choice no cis

(Her)
Yes mum no cis

SuddenArborealStop · 30/10/2021 14:55

If other groups are allowed to police the language that describes them then I as a C word woman reject its use and therefore it is a slur

Slythermum · 30/10/2021 14:54

*using this is in response to. Halloween Hmm
