More power to you Ceri.

I believe Ceri or her wife have posted on here previously, linking to excellent articles her wife has written about being gender dysphoric. If I can find them later I'll link them. Two women who must not be silenced!

TheABC · 22/10/2021 19:47

I read that speech with a dropped jaw. Her anger leapt off the page.

It's reaching the point where yes, we have call their bluff.

ChampagneCommunist · 22/10/2021 19:46

God is a woman and her name is Ceri!

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 22/10/2021 19:37

Standing ovation from me! Don't fuck with this woman.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/10/2021 19:35

Me too Datun

Ceri's speech was outstanding. I've forwarded it to the Stephen Nolan programme. He has his weekly show on BBC Radio5 live at 10pm tonight. I do hope he'll mention it (I think he has a daily show in NI)

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 22/10/2021 19:33

That would be a standing order, right there from me.

I'm beginning to think invisible women who can all need to take the equivalent of Saturday jobs to be able to fund all of the necessary legal actions and a fighting fund.

Datun · 22/10/2021 19:30

@ArabellaScott

Yes, Datun. Shovel here ready for her crowdfunder.

I do think we need a fighting fund for any women needing it.

That would be a standing order, right there from me.

[quote Sicario]The Judge in Harry The Owl's case against the college of policing was very clear in the judgment he handed down regarding police over-reach, and the danger of "policing" free speech. Professor Stock also gave evidence.

It's a long read, but covers everything that Ceri is talking about.

The police have a LOT to answer for. Still, easier to join in with the bullying and silencing of women than to go out there and catch actual criminals, eh?

Any word btw on Harry Miller's appeal from March 2021 against the College of Policing re the part of the judgement that didn't go in his favour (which I'm obviously hoping he wins on appeal)?

www.judiciary.uk/publications/miller-v-1-the-college-of-policing-2-the-chief-constable-of-humberside-police/

This appeal concerns the lawfulness of provisions of a document entitled Hate Crime Operational Guidance (HCOG) that is published by the Respondent, the College of Policing. Specifically, the appeal concerns the provisions in the HCOG on the recording of so-called non-crime hate incidents. The Appellant is an individual who made a number of posts on Twitter that were recorded as non-crime hate incidents by Humberside Police.

A positive result for Harry would be massively helpful right now.

Sorry reply to @Alphonsothedinosaur
RedDogsBeg · 22/10/2021 19:26

So, a woman is told to leave the debate after receiving rape and death threats and the ones sending said threats are told to just carry on, it's not a problem?

Yes, let's compare and contrast Police actions, rushing in on their white chargers for someone complaining about a Tweet and radio silence when women reported Wayne Couzens for indecent exposure - Good Job Lads, Keep Up The Sterling Work.

All the best wishes to Ceri, strong and determined in the face of this wholesale assault on women and what a fantastic speech.

I agree with this

Datun · 22/10/2021 18:38

Fucking hell, that is brilliant. Such strength. She's actually calling their bluff.

We all know the rank double standards being applied over this issue.

How anti women's protesters are ignored or actively encouraged and women barely raising a fucking eyebrow, are targeted and threatened.

It's time to get it on the table, and this woman, who I have not heard of before, is doing it.

She's a bloody heroine.

If there's a crowd funder, I will contribute.

DialSquare · 22/10/2021 18:33

Wow. So powerful. If I was ever to question my opinion on this issue (I won't), all I need to do is read thebrilliant pieces written by many women who feel the same as me and confirm that I'm right. I have nothing but contempt for the complainant and his ilk.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 22/10/2021 18:32

That was a fantastic speech. He picked on the wrong woman this time!

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 22/10/2021 18:25

I'm being dense - for which, my apologies - but could someone please DM me the name of the man who is frightened of ribbons? Thank you!

3timeslucky · 22/10/2021 18:19

Wow!

HighNetGirth · 22/10/2021 18:15

Yes, let's compare and contrast the police response to women abused and threatened online with the police response to complaints by trans activists and their allies about speech (neither abusive nor threatening) that the TRAs find objectionable.

I welcome a really detailed look at those discrepancies, and not just in Cheri Black's case. And I look forward to hearing the various police forces involved step forward to explain why the responses were so different.

SimpleHoardOfTruth · 22/10/2021 18:15

Oooof

BeBraverToday · 22/10/2021 18:12

Amazing, powerful article. ❤

Gumbomambo · 22/10/2021 18:11

She’s amazing. I’m so proud to have women like her standing up with us. I hope she’s ok and I hope that her and her family are ok.
