This sounds interesting.

A special ‘Nolan Investigates’ podcast drops tomorrow afternoon on @BBCSounds. An 18 month investigation into the influence of a lobby group on public bodies throughout the UK. More details in the morning

It seems to be about Stonewall.

Anyone know more about it?

There is some chatter about it on Twitter.

(Tweet from JCJ says:

Okay, at last, here it is.

The BBC Ulster documentary on the influence of Stonewall on public life in the UK.

Many GC women have been interviewed for this.

Let's take the lid off this thing shall we?

From the Proud Trust website:-
(Apparently we all have a gender identity…)

WHAT IS GENDER?
When people think of “gender”, they often think about body parts, clothes or how a person looks and acts. But we also have a gender identity. This is the gender that we identify with, the gender that we know ourselves to be and it is part of our internal sense of self.

Our gender identity can be very important to who we are as a person. Some people are men, some people are women, some people are non-binary (which means they identify as neither 100% a man nor 100% a woman). You can describe your gender however feels most comfortable to you. A trans person is someone whose gender is different to the one they were assigned at birth.

Your gender is not determined by your body parts. People come in many different shapes and sizes. Imagine you woke up one day in a different body. Would anything change on the inside? No! You would be the same person you were before, with the same sense of your own gender.

Follow the link in this and watch the little film. It’s clearly aimed at 10 years upwards

I found at least two of the examples about a 14 year old and a 15 year old disturbing.
Gender identity theology for children.

Also the ‘explanation’ in another story about why women don’t ‘need’ separate changing rooms… watch the end credits and see who paid for it: the NHS

I've listened to the whole lot 3 times. Just brilliant.

One thing that I enjoyed was Benjamin Cohen trying to explain "two spirit gender" and also he really caught himself out when he said....

"As someone gets older and they decide.....er......they discover they're non-binary blah blah"

Using the word 'decide' there just really showed this gender ideology movement up for what it is. It's choosing to be part of a club.

Helleofabore · 17/10/2021 22:49

Yes, stonewall, I want to listen too!!!

Stephen Nolan had just tweeted an invite to stonewall

We would like to offer another opportunity for Stonewall to be part of our podcast series .

We would commit to creating an additional episode of Nolan Investigates , if Stonewall would like to sit down with me.

We want to listen .

Just WOW!

Nellodee · 17/10/2021 21:32

"My partner and I are on a surrogacy journey, but there's no baby on the way yet, but when there is a pregnancy...."

When there is a pregnancy? Isn't something... someONE... missing here? Fucking hell.

TheMarzipanDildo · 17/10/2021 21:13

David Bell was just brilliant. So clear and sensible and covering it all.

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 17/10/2021 20:41

Debbie Hayton and Owen is pure gold. She's showing him up to be such a self interested child spewing bollocks!

Blessex · 17/10/2021 20:39

I have sent it to my street WA ladies group - mainly middle aged women with pre teens or teenagers. Just said oooooo listen to this ladies.

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 17/10/2021 20:39

I'm half way through episode 8 now, I can't walk away from it, It's absolutely massive. We need to share this far and wide

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 17/10/2021 20:37

They obviously hasn’t the foggiest idea about women.

If one rejects the sex binary, one might affect to have no insight into the behaviour of the sex binaries. If one had been abandoned as an infant to be raised by non-binary wolves in a wilderness and had never participated in an educational or healthcare system.

Blessex · 17/10/2021 20:36

@WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis Boom indeed! My DH is working his way through Episode 5 now. I said listening very carefully!

GrandmaMazur · 17/10/2021 20:33

I’m half way through episode 8 with Debbie Hayton and Owen non-binary mayor. It’s so infuriating I’ve had to take a break.

Owen is either incredibly ill informed or knows that some of the things they is saying are not true because they keeps repeating things they said in the previous episode (no country with self-ID has ever had any problems) or repeating statements that can be disproved with a simple Google search (puberty blockers are always completely reversible). And as for comparing men who would abuse self-ID to attack women (though of course it never happens) with actual women who apparently go perving around women’s spaces on a regular basis. Angry They obviously hasn’t the foggiest idea about women.

RainbowCrossing · 17/10/2021 20:14

Surely Owen does know Owen's chromosomes? Surely post puberty when everything has grown and worked as it is supposed to we all know our chromosomes?

Perhaps particularly if we have a Y chromosome and everything being in working order is so very very obvious?

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 17/10/2021 20:03

This is absolutely brilliant. It's got to have an impact surely.

MonsignorMirth · 17/10/2021 20:01

Ep 8. Owen was asked about 'can you change sex' and kept replying about 'changing gender'.
This constant deliberate conflation of the two is so egregious.
"Sex isn't a binary".
Plus also trotting out 'I don't know my chromosomes', yet, as someone else pointed out, how is anyone supposed to know if they have a cervix or not? Not the sharpest...

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 17/10/2021 18:57

Episode 5 with David Bell.....Boom!

BettyFilous · 17/10/2021 17:01

Nolan’s questions are good. NB Owen doesn’t have the first clue.

BettyFilous · 17/10/2021 16:51

I’m listening to episode 8 with Hayton and the NB mayor. I’m so exasperated with NB Owen trotting out all the out of date talking points about children, PBs and the suicide stats, all recently debunked in Keira’s JR. I’m shouting at the radio.

KittenKong · 17/10/2021 15:21

I’ve always said that work would NOT want me to bring my whole self in.

I’m actually a rather foul mouthed depressive, with an incredible sarcastic and black sense of humour. But people think I’m ‘lovely’ at work. Because I am professional, considerate, helpful and take my turn making the tea. I don’t tell them honestly when asked ‘how are you?’, and rarely allow (negative) emotion into the office.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 17/10/2021 15:14

GCs and critical thinkers are required to STFU and stay in their box, despite having the law and reality on their side.

I don't wholly agree with the content of this Triggernometry interview but it was interesting to see a Google employee in Switzerland who was fired for over-rigorously attempting to apply critical thinking and pursuing consistency in the application of some social justice topics promoted by senior management.

BettyFilous · 17/10/2021 15:07

@Shedbuilder

They can be themselves at work, but everyone else has to button their lips, plaster a smile on their face, ignore their inner shriek of 'there's a man in the ladies loo' and not show any indication of what they're really feeling.

This is tyranny, isn't it? And it makes me wonder whether that was what people felt forced to do for the LGB population. Are the people I work with secretly homophobic but just hiding it well? I do get a vibe from some people. I've talked about it and have been told that no, of course A or B or C doesn't have an issue with me being a lesbian, they're just a bit grouchy/ don't make eye contact/ having a bad day. But I wonder...

I listened to that quote about bringing your whole self to work and had exactly the same thought about staff with GC views. Nope, anyone even mildly questioning of the ideology most definitely is not allowed to bring his/her whole self to work. GCs and critical thinkers are required to STFU and stay in their box, despite having the law and reality on their side. 🤷‍♀️

Whatwouldscullydo

I would love to see a break down. Of discrimination trans people claim to face. Whether it's truly because of their identity, and how much is down to other things. I mean you can be trans and still poo at your job, apply for jobs that aren't appropriate for your personality and skill level , be unable to handle criticism or direction, and exhibit behaviour not compatible with the job.

How many were positions they put themselves in in the first place. Such as running a rape crisis centre or being a bra fitters where the liklihood is that a female staff member will be requested. A person wouldn't be rejected on the basis of being trans but being male. Same as any other male staff member.

We hear alot abiut being marginalised and discriminated against but we never hear the actual reasons.

What basis does this discrimination take?

There was the case of the journalist who transitioned in their 50s, who found that promotions passed them by, their ideas were credited to men, and they were not listened to. The TW sued their employer for transphobic discrimination, was represented by Moira Robin White who sometimes pops up on these boards.

The case was not won, because there was not transphobic discrimination. This person was being treated as all the women in the media are treated. That's inclusion.

I can only assume that the TW had thought that being a woman was all about lipstick and pillow fights and that they had no idea about how women are treated in a workplace.

Absolutely bonkers situation. I did chuckle, but I do like a bit of irony.
