This sounds interesting.

A special ‘Nolan Investigates’ podcast drops tomorrow afternoon on @BBCSounds. An 18 month investigation into the influence of a lobby group on public bodies throughout the UK. More details in the morning

It seems to be about Stonewall.

Anyone know more about it?

There is some chatter about it on Twitter.

(Tweet from JCJ says:

Okay, at last, here it is.

The BBC Ulster documentary on the influence of Stonewall on public life in the UK.

Many GC women have been interviewed for this.

Let's take the lid off this thing shall we?

I had to stop and draw breath after the Owen Hurcum episode. I got what they were doing, letting him talk absolute (non-binary) bollocks, but it was just too too much. The exposure of Ben Cohen was more concise.

Meanwhile whilst LOJ is railing. My teenagers are clapping.

Investigative Journalist is David Thompson, according to this

Anyone who brings Ben Cohen's wobbly voice on with a simple question is someone who can join my gang anytime.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/10/2021 23:28

I believe all the real work was done by the investigative journalist (can't remember his name but in the first episode, I think).

Nolan asks the faux-naive "man in the street" type questions though, and does it very very well.

The Stonewall response in memes...

I've never listened to Nolan before.

I have developed a massive crush on him and I'm only three episodes in.

Mollyollydolly · 13/10/2021 23:08

The David Bell episode is a belter.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 13/10/2021 23:03

Is Jane Clare Jones in a particular episode?

RainbowCrossing · 13/10/2021 23:00

@Angrysaurus

Go on LOJ. Surprise us.

Maybe it will peak him.

Oooh yeah.

'You know guys, I've been thinking and...well, maybe I was a bit hasty with all this TERF stuff'

PaleBlueMoonlight · 13/10/2021 22:59

Have listened to 1 and 2. Has anyone listened to the end? Need a spolier on thé conclusion!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 13/10/2021 22:59

I've listened to the end of episode 4 - had to stop after the non binary burble for a break. It reminded me of that classic Morecombe & Wise sketch with Andre Previn about playing all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order Grin

I knew I was listening to English being spoken but the words didn't join together to make coherent sense.

However, fair play to the BBC for finally allowing an analysis of their own failings in relation to their inappropriate relationship with a partisan political group.

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus

I've been checking his twitter all evening.

It's possible the well known YouTuber is preparing content for his channel on this topic? And simultaneously participating in several WhatsApp groups?

Blah blah 'most marginalised people' blah blah 'shame of our national broadcaster' blah blah 'suicide' blah blah 'wrong side of history'.

Go on LOJ. Surprise us.

keeptalkinghappytalk · 13/10/2021 22:40

A turning point, surely. Bravo to all involved!!!

Blessex · 13/10/2021 22:36

My teenage kids are experiencing their single mother totally disengaged tonight. I said mum is dealing with all the shit you are rolling your eyes at at school. First time for ages I have heard. Thanks mum.

BecauseOfTheRain · 13/10/2021 22:36

This is amazing! So comprehensive and clear, I'm only on episode 3 so far, but this is something I can forward to friends and relatives.
P.s. Justin Fletcher 😂😂
