I was surprised by this video, not just by the hysteria on display, but heartened by the comments. People are starting to question, to push back. In esence, they are not playing the game anymore.

The person that goes into the fast food restaurant and immediately says "what's his name?" Well surely that transwoman has just done exactly what they are accusing staff of. They don't know what pronouns or title to use but they immediately used "his" because he based it on what the server looked like 😁

They are hypocritical

Deliriumoftheendless · 09/10/2021 07:12

That is an excellent response.

PrincessNutella · 09/10/2021 04:41

acatcalledjohn--hahahaha love it!

acatcalledjohn · 08/10/2021 19:51

This is my favourite response.

I'm sure the privileged white male thoroughly enjoyed putting down the underprivileged ethnic minority male.

It's white males desperately trying to continue clinging to power. And the aggression in the Mr Menno Funk mash up confirms that.

I think the tide may be turning
ArtemesiaK · 08/10/2021 18:58

Showed these to my DH, thinking that he'd be peaked, but he wasn't that interested and just said stuff like "Why don't they ban them?" "Why don't they throw them out" "I don't understand why they just put up with it".
Do all male partners miss the point or is it just mine? I'm glad I can come here where people understand what we're up against.... :(

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 08/10/2021 18:55

This increasingly feels like white males being desperate to be 'oppressed and marginalised'. Is it like a power thing, so that they can get the kick out of 'educating' people?

I'm not saying this is the case for all trans people, but certainly the ones in the first clip and in that tweet (white man gets to berate black man, white man gets to be the more oppressed one) feel that way.

Igmum · 08/10/2021 18:36

Well done that manager but how appalling that these aggressive and entitled people spend their time bullying customer service staff who are obliged to agree with everything to keep their jobs

Made my day! At last, ordinary people have realised what is going on, and are not having it. Feminists are no longer lone voices, the mainstream has also spotted the Emperor’s nudity.
I would love to see a research study on the incidence of narcissism in transwomen. My gut feeling is it would be way above average.

334bu · 08/10/2021 17:45

Twitter is cheering on manager.

[quote nauticant]I was tempted to put up that tweet too yourhairiswinterfire. But I thought this was a telling response:

Gah, just realised it wasn't a x post, we posted different tweets!

The ratio on the sonicdrivein one you posted is quite something!!

Motorina · 08/10/2021 17:24

First one makes a comment about needing to pass as a cis-woman in order to be safe. Which in itself shows a staggering lack of insight into how it actually is to live as a woman.

waybill · 08/10/2021 17:17

@BaronMunchausen

Sonic has solemnly promised to investigate its employee. The bully handed him a credit card with a male name before repeatedly demanding to know what he thought was. Masculine name, masculine voice, the employee finally, and honestly, said "a man". Whereupon the bully turned phone round, as if were self-evidently not a man, as sporting lipstick and long hair.
Well since the bully was standing right in front of the employee, surely the only suitable word would be 'you'.

@malloo

Gosh, those women are unusually aggressive and entitled, you'd almost think they were, I dunno, men?
Yup. The last one threatens to take it outside. I have NEVER heard a woman do that, mostly because we know we'll end up badly hurt.

Plenty of men do it, though.

All three behave as if they've had a lifetime of male conditioning. All three, incidentally, look like men inspite of their dress sense. But it's the former that actually matters when it comes to womens' safety.

FromEden · 08/10/2021 17:06

"I would assume you are a man". Sorry but I laughed and the person turning around the camera to show a clearly male person wearing a wig and lipstick to try and show that they are in fact a woman made it even better. Good for him for standing up to this belligerent and delusional person. I'm guessing this employee is in trouble now though

CharlieParley · 08/10/2021 17:02

Or, in the case of the customer with a credit card with a male name but feminine presenting, one might have thought that staff were rather enlightened, didn't bat an eyelid at encountering someone with a man's name dressing in a feminine style who is happily being themselves (proudly gender-non-conforming man).

I don't get why there's an immediate jump to transphobia. One staff member saying sir, then the rest do it, too, to be polite. That customer is accusing the manager of being transphobic for recognising a male person is male. That's ridiculous.

Staff were supposed to ignore the name on the credit card and go by appearance. But what if they don't see a woman but a man with a feminine appearance? Are we required to be mind readers now?

You have a serious problem if your wellbeing depends on everyone you encounter espousing your beliefs. The world doesn't work like that. No matter what faith or principle or ideology you believe in, you're always going to encounter lots of people who believe the opposite.

You cannot fall apart when others disagree with your beliefs. It's not healthy.

yourhairiswinterfire · 08/10/2021 16:59

Sorry, x post with nauticant

yourhairiswinterfire · 08/10/2021 16:58

The comments are absolute gold, I can only imagine they would be waaaay different on Twitter.

This person got their arse handed to them on Twitter too.

twitter.com/edentorres121/status/1444316245550112771

People are done with this shit.

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 08/10/2021 16:57

So they must be women because they have long hair and are wearing lipstick?

Nope, nothing sexist to see here, nothing at all!

nauticant · 08/10/2021 16:56

I wanted to see how that response went down on twitter:

The manager was great. The person pays with a credit card with a male name and then berates the manager because staff called him sir. If you decide to change your gender then you should expect sometimes people may slip up.

HummingBeeBox · 08/10/2021 16:43

@RoseisMadder that makes no sense at all!
