That's it really.

For a woman in her position to go on Glinner's channel .. that's bravery ... that's ovaries of steel.

My admiration for her grows daily.

@MargaritaPie

Or to put it another way if helps clarify my view, it's easy to think you're "on the good side" when you stay in a little echo chamber where everyone has the same view and agrees with you.
Not everyone on this board agrees with me..l
RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 02/10/2021 11:46

I don’t know why i just picked that sentence as an example of bollocks 🤔

And ‘a gender critical’ ? 😀

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 02/10/2021 11:42

But when a gender critical goes into the real world they seem to have a habit of ending up fired, kicked out of bars or hauled up in court (or at least be visited and warned by police)

Bollocks they do

MargaritaPie · 02/10/2021 11:40

Opinions are certainly conflicting.

On this subforum on mumsnet, Twitter and Reddit's GenderCritical sub (oh wait that got banned for hate, so scratch that) gender criticals seem to think they are some sort of women's rights champions in shining suffragette armour protecting women and children from the "big bad transpeople".

@RufustheBadgeringReindeer

They shouldn’t put something on guidelines that they don’t actually do
Agreed.
donquixotedelamancha · 01/10/2021 23:17

Feminism isn't just fixed one set of viewpoints.

Again, a non-sequitur rather than trying to understand the point being made and engage constructively.

Get any two FWR regulars together on any topic and you have at least three conflicting opinions; but people listen to each other's arguments and meaningfully debate.

It is that willingness to test ideas which has provided the impetus to the anti-self ID campaign. You'll never achieve anything if you can't listen.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 01/10/2021 21:03

@BoreOfWhabylon

They do though Rufus. I quite often report for those reasons (not just on FWR) and MNHQ often agree. Especially if a pattern is reported.
Oooo ok

My apologies MNHQ 💐

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 01/10/2021 20:45

misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour

😳 really thats an actual reason

I reckon thats bollocks, mnhq dont delete for that

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/10/2021 20:40

Site Talk Guidelines
No personal attacks
No posts that break the law, including hate speech of any kind
No trolling, misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour
No trollhunting
No spamming

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 01/10/2021 20:22

@MargaritaPie

Glinner is a member here?
Yep

Thats why you got deleted as a personal attack

Honestly the best bet is not to be rude or make personal attacks on people just in case they are here

AlfonsoTheDinosaur · 01/10/2021 20:21

@MargaritaPie

Subscribe to the Glinster all you want. Give him tips or even buy him a new car I don't really care lol

Regarding the women who was sadly attacked, the media does make it clear it was a "targeted hate crime". This would suggest to me the problem is hatred against transpeople.

There's a reason why some Universities (see thread I recently made) are taking action to try to stamp out transphobia and hatred on campus. Hate, especially against a vulnerable minority group, is potentially dangerous and it has to be nipped in the bud before it flourishes into a big weed that's hard to get rid of. IMO.

Ah, whatabouttery. My favourite logical fallacy.

Yep, and?
somethinginoffensive · 01/10/2021 20:19

It's not the Fucking Garrick Club.

It's way better Grin

donquixotedelamancha · 01/10/2021 20:18

Glinner is a member here?

Just goes to show that despite the many hours MargaritaPie must waste posting the same tired old points she doesn't actually read much of the site.

Margarita if you could be bothered to really try to understand Feminist's point of view by just reading threads for a while (instead of drailing) you would be able to make better arguments and persuade others to your view (or change your mind).

AbandonedCharacter · 01/10/2021 20:08

Unfortunately, there seems to be far too many women who also prioritise men’s feelings over women’s needs, who would agree with Arty, I’m glad Helen isn’t one of them.

I think a lot of women find it really hard to say no to men. I saw a woman talk about prisons and say directly to a man who says he is a woman "no male person should be in women's prisons, that's the line". She obviously said more than that and in a very diplomatic way, but ultimately it was a "no men" line. That's quite a hard thing to say face to face with a gentle person.
