Apparently an adult male can get a cervix through hormones and surgery!

Who knew?

I’m equally embarrassed for him and bloody livid that this moron is in government.

After you've watched that one, listen to him on Radio 4 this morning. The discussion of dinosaurs begins at timestamp 2 hours 20 minutes.

I thought shit wouldn’t want to get on wrong side of you

So angry

Only questions he approved off would be answered

A radger there.

PankhurstConnection · 29/09/2021 12:08

@Doglicks

I went to school with him. He peddles this "born and brought up on the mean streets of Tottenham" nonsense, but he was actually a full boarder at The Kings Cathedral School in Peterborough, and was a chorister in the Cathedral choir. I have a cassette tape of him singing "Old Father Time" in a high soprano solo, from a school play in 1985. Barely went home apart from 3 times a year for 7 years. Then off to Oxford and then Harvard. When exactly was he down living the rough life in the ghetto, that he bases his politics on?

(Sorry that was just an aside from your thread) :-)

Don't be sorry. I found your aside very informative if not very surprising that yet another politician is basing their career on lies upon lies.
Lammysaurus · 29/09/2021 12:06

Transplanted cervixes ARE cervixes!!

(It's true; I googled it: www.minitube.com/catalog/en/artificial-cervix-p991/)

"He was angry"

But a woman was questioning him, he who was a descendent of enslaved people, so nobody can lecture him about rights.
He is a complete and utter tool.

andyoldlabour · 29/09/2021 12:03

Akire

100% he said it at 3:10 on.

littlbrowndog · 29/09/2021 12:02

Cripes that was some anger from the lady dinasour

I identify as a feminist he said. While talking right over a woman interviewer

He was angry.

"He's absolutely right - all you need to do is fill a little flower pot with soil, put it in a sunny location, water it with oestrogen and unicorn poo, and soon you will have a lovely little cervix of your own!"

Grin This is why I like this forum so much.
Akire · 29/09/2021 11:57

Did he really I was listening thought bad enough he said 1 in 4 considered it but had just woke up. The daily mail (sorry) summed it up

It's remarkable how much power this apparently powerless community actually wields: across social media, in schools and universities, in our institutions and policies. With the possible exception of the climate change lobby, I'd say there are now few causes that hold more sway, culturally or politically.

To me, that's not marginalisation and abuse; that is, as they say in the corridors of Whitehall, 'uber cut-through'. Indeed, the issue certainly had cut-through at the Labour conference, far more so than any actual policies.

😂😂😂

@Joystir59

When you think of the role a real cervix plays in the protection of the foetus and the birth of a baby, it's such an insult to pretend that men can get one made.
Exactly.
andyoldlabour · 29/09/2021 11:51

Wow, Lammy said on that interview that one in four transpeople COMMIT suicide, not attempt, but COMMIT.
That guy has zero credibility, these idiots are making the Labour party a laughing stock.

The Times covered Lammy's demand that city lawyers will be forced to offer 35 hours free legal services each to help reverse record low rape convictions. The comments are full of actual city lawyers pointing out that their lack of professional expertise in dealing with rape cases could be harmful for rape victims:
As a City lawyer, I'm very much in favour of mandatory pro bono work. I help a number of charities on matters where I am competent to do so.
But I would do more harm than good if I was put in charge of a criminal rape case. In fact, probably the only person likely to do more harm than me would be Mr Lammy

Nice to see lawyers with an appreciation of boundaries and professional respect for the expertise of others - so unlike some of the fly by lawyers we see on here Wink

I also wonder if he thinks that a 'neophallus' is a penis. He might well say that he did in public because he'd realise that was the party line. But I sincerely doubt that ANY man would ever actually think that an artificially constructed appendage that had to be pumped up to achieve some resemblance to an erection, couldn't ejaculate, couldn't impregnate a woman, wouldn't experience the same sensations, might well not even be fully functional as something to piss through was in any way the equivalent of their own sex organ.

Yet I really believe that a significant number of men genuinely think that a hole in a body located between the legs that could theoretically be penetrated is pretty much the same thing as female genitalia. Maybe not EXACTLY the same, but pretty much, the details are trivial in their minds. And unless they want a baby they don't give a shit about any other part of that reproductive system, just the hole, that's all that matters. Even then, why ever bother to learn about all the disgusting details like ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervixes, clitorises?

Jaysmith71 · 29/09/2021 11:42
This is him on Radio 5 today. Well worth a listen/watch. Don't throw anything...
When I click on that link, I get taken to an ad featuring Neil Degrasse Tyson saying:

One of the great challenges of a subject is knowing enough to think you're right, but not enough to know you're wrong....

@PiglingBlonde

www.cityam.com/city-lawyers-would-be-forced-to-give-free-help-to-rape-victims-under-labour/

@TatoAndBeans It seems to be a back of the fag packet policy.

Aren’t they all… Hmm

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 29/09/2021 11:36

In the radio 5 interview, David seems to be saying white female constituents aren't entitled to tell him how they feel about their rights because he's black. So we can tell a white MP, right?

Can black women tell him they want single-sex prisons? Or did he forget black women existed when he was setting it up as a white woman vs black man issue?

Please note that he also wants more black men in parliament and affirmative action to get them in there. He has said this. Now I absolutely had no issue with that until today's interview, when I heard that white women weren't allowed to talk about women's rights to black male MPs or black male Shadow Ministers for Justice.

Seems poor value for his wage, right?

Fitt · 29/09/2021 11:31

All the extra rapists your tax lawyers prosecute can go into women's prisons can't they Lammy?

SickAndTiredAgain · 29/09/2021 11:28

@RoyalCorgi

It's interesting that he's waded into the debate without understanding it. Say what you like about Emily Thornberry, but she has understood that the objection to the phrase "only women have cervixes" is that trans men also have a cervix. Lammy hasn't grasped this at all, so he thinks it's about trans women having medical procedures to create a cervix. Which would, frankly, be insane. What's the point in having a cervix if you haven't got a uterus?
Exactly.

When asked that question about the phrase “only women have a cervix” why do so many politicians bring up transwomen? The sentence has nothing to do with transwomen - the sentence “all women have a cervix” would involve discussions around transwomen.

Imnobody4 · 29/09/2021 11:26

David Lammy now trending on twitter. He's appalling on the Radio 5 interview, absolutely desperate. Can only berate the interviewer for asking about women's rights instead of something more important.

JustcameoutGC · 29/09/2021 11:19

Intersteing how he can trot out stats on trans suicide rates at the drop of a hat, but has no fucking clue what a cervix is.

Absolute moron.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 29/09/2021 11:18

It really does show how little men actually know about female bodies.

So much daylight being shone this week though. The fact it's all over tv and newspapers and no longer being so censored is great.

Fitt · 29/09/2021 11:18

What a fucking arse. I really wouldn't want a corporate lawyer bumbling around a rape case. Does Lammy think defence criminal barristers will give them an easy ride?

Idiotic.
