And where did Patricia Hannah-Wood, a trans woman, suffer this "abuse"?

In the loos, apparently. The women's loos, I assume.

I wonder what the nature of this alleged abuse is? A woman expressing her discomfort with having to share a female-only space with a male-bodied person?

But as we have been told, there is no conflict between women's rights and trans rights, so...

OMFG! did one of those discusting cervix havers dare to actually speak, or even, gasp, express her discomfort and fear, to a stunning and brave WOMAN THAT MATTERS.
How fucking dare she. Something has to be done about these [people]. Im sure some kind of system can be introduced to make sure these 'people' are made to helped to know their place, possibly some kind of badge or something?

@Name12341

Interesting how aggressive and self assured the speaker is. Almost as if that person grew up being socialised as a male. Hmm Very similar in tone to a 'boris Johnson speech'.
Yes that was my feeling too, I felt very uncomfortable watching the small clip I did - so uncomfortable in fact that I stopped it.

Having seen this I am more convinced it was just a 'this is the ladies, the mens are over there'

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/09/2021 21:46

Let's have interviews with Patricia on all news channels, please.

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 21:45

So when the witnesses speak out and/ or the report is made then yes fine. I don't mind being wrong.

I just find this a really unlikely set of circs.

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 21:44

And 5.

If I was with a colleague in the loss and someone started on them I would not sit back and watch. Ignore.

This person was with a group. Surely they defended the target of the abuse. And I would imagine vocally.

I'd imagine raised voices at the very least. A bit of a hooha. That other people would notice. Because arguments about someone verbally abusing your colleague are not quiet. They are loud and angry.

And surely one of the colleagues OR a bystander would have reported? Said you need to report I will say what I saw. And the others saying yes me too.

No?!

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 21:40

Yes of course this could have happened but it seems very strange.

  1. Why in the bog with a group. That's pretty strange. At a work thing. In a nightclub maybe but... At a work conference?
  1. Interested to hear from the women they were with
  1. This is a very hot topic in Labour at the moment. J Cherry hasn't gone because of abuse. They chucked all those women out a couple years back for their views. So it would not be something anyone at the labour conference would do lightly.
Leading to...
  1. Anyone doing this would expect to be reported and/ or named and shamed. In the current climate any receiving this type of abuse would report of course they would. Esp as so many witnesses. Makes zero sense not to do something about it.
Jaysmith71 · 28/09/2021 21:36

The disabled also get a rough deal, but scooter-girl seems not to identify with them either.

DavidRosesJumpers · 28/09/2021 21:34

They seem to have missed out another group that suffers very frequent abuse and murder...
Absolutely. Its fucking madness. Crazy woke stupidity.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 28/09/2021 21:23

At the very start of their speech they mention how LGBT and BAME people face particularly high levels of abuse. They seem to have missed out another group that suffers very frequent abuse and murder...

Jaysmith71 · 28/09/2021 21:22

...also, person who needs a mobility scooter to get onto the platform will surely use the disabled loos, where you get the whole place to yourself???

Certainly wouldn't be able to reverse that thing into a cubicle.

Jaysmith71 · 28/09/2021 21:18

Odd choice of vocabulary: Was in the loo with collegaues and was abused by a sister.

I assume that's calling out a fellow member of the sisterhood. Odd thing is, you can be a brother and have sisters.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 28/09/2021 21:17

I now have Ballroom Blitz as an earworm.

Deliriumoftheendless · 28/09/2021 21:16

“ I was in the loo downstairs with a few of my colleagues”

Is the direct quote from the article, so yes, more than one witness who will be able to provide details.

SpindleWorld · 28/09/2021 21:11

Challenge = transphobic witches!

Don't challenge = there, you see, there's no problem, we're all coming in now, move over.

Name12341 · 28/09/2021 21:05

Changemusthappen · 28/09/2021 21:05

Gosh thanks for that clip Arabella. I call for Patricia for Labour Party leader!

Thelikelylass · 28/09/2021 21:01

This is madness, isn't it? Case after case after case of men who decide to call themselves a woman's name, look like men and then go into a women's' safe space and don't expect to be challenged. If I was in the bathroom and this person walked in damn right I would want to know why he was in the women's loo as there is nothing in his appearance on that photograph that would even make me think this is a woman. Challenging someone would be perfectly reasonable, not fucking transphobic. Stupid twats, this makes me even more determined to fight for our rights now.

ArabellaScott · 28/09/2021 21:00

@somethinginoffensive

I am just watching the clip of PHW, followed by a woman talking garbled nonsense.

It's actually quite eye opening.

Yes, it runs onto the pansex woman making some ... startling points.
EmbarrassingAdmissions · 28/09/2021 20:56

@Mollyollydolly

Didn't know Sweet were making a comeback.
I'm so incompetent at this sort of thing, Ballroom Blitz ?

NiceGerbil · 28/09/2021 20:53

Apparently loads of witnesses as says they were in the ladies with a bunch of colleagues.

I know women are well known for going on pairs or small groups in pubs and nightclubs.

I've never gone in a gang at a work conference though :/

Anyway yes lots of witnesses so imagine they'll be speaking up soon.

Mollyollydolly · 28/09/2021 20:46

Mollyollydolly · 28/09/2021 20:44

Oh this story needs to be everywhere, with details of what happened and photos.

theThreeofWeevils · 28/09/2021 20:44

In the loos? No witnesses?
No record of what was actually said or who said

That would be a bit odd, really, the lack of witnesses since I am sure I heard Patricia say that Patricia had gone to the bogs with some of Patricia's colleagues from the North West.

CharlieParley · 28/09/2021 20:43

This reminds me of one of those conferences where oppression Olympics and privilege pummeling trumped their safe spaces and super supportive policies and they descended into accusing each other of all sorts of "literal violence" caused by the minutest infractions.

Also, if male transgender people are not safe in women's spaces after all, might now be a good time to suggest third spaces again?
