Weird situation

I tutor some primary school siblings online. Have done for ages. They've just told me that their dad is transgender and likes wearing girls' school uniform, including to work. But uses "he" pronouns with family because the grandparents don't know.
I feel a bit weird about this. Transgender - ok. But why girls' school uniform? He's a middle-aged man.

@CBUK2K2

You see plenty of girls nights where they are dressed as school girls etc?
Women dressed up on a hen night is rather different to a father dressing as a school girl in front of his school-aged daughters.

I’m worried you can’t see the difference and hope you don’t have any safeguarding responsibilities.

@MistandMud

I campaign within my small community and have personally talked friends out of using the ladies loo's. Not much in the grand scale but I try

Good, glad to hear it, and that should surely be the default position amongst decent males of whatever gender.

I wonder if you could go and have a word with the tedious RMW who is busy self-justifying all manner of intrusive behaviour on another thread at the moment.

She has left the site 😢

I just don't see anyone actually wanting a "proper conversation "

The proper conversation of this thread was about safeguarding children.

All the time though i am attacked , blamed and vilified almost everytime I try to join a debate,

No-one has attacked you. You tried to shut down a thread on safeguarding then tried to me-rail it to stop us discussing it. That doesn’t reflect well on you, especially considering the topic.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/09/2021 16:18

Please take this as intended - I have to say that, it's my ssocialisation showing!

All the time though i am attacked , blamed and vilified almost everytime I try to join a debate, most people on here don't seem interested in listening, they just make their assumptions. Yep. Because you are male and have popped into a female dominated site, specifically into the newly enforced ghetto, where women discuss defending their rights from all comers.

Not all transwomen get such a push back, some blend in and aren't noticeably 'male' in their interactions here. I suppose that means they don't try to justify their choices, acknowledge their maleness, if not their masculinity, and ask more questions than they try to answer, iyswim.

I understand the anger and that's ok, I have broad shoulders. You'll need to have here Smile That applies to everyone, no matter what their se or chosen gender (seehow I avoided the obvious jibe? I am trying to be sincere, lose some of that automatic reaction).

I just don't see anyone actually wanting a "proper conversation " That is, I suspect, because we are all using the same words to mean slightly different things; are starting from a different points.

You start from your perspective and we don't have a bloody clue about you, for example - if you are the kind of transwoman who insists on trans [space] woman because that's how you type or because you believe, want us to belive that transwomen are actually a ubset of women rather than one of males.

We don't know if you might be one of those agent provocateiurs who provokes here and runs away to Twitter to show out of context, sometimes stealthily snipped, quotes, to prove to others how nasty we are. Or reports all 'hurted feelz' to the Mods, even invites friends to do the same, so we get banned.

I know you've been around long enough to have sen such actions.

Why would we greet you with open arms? We don't know you. Maybe start a thread of your own in here and set out your stall.

Why are you here?
What do you hope to get out of any discussion with the women here?

That kind of thing.

If you have been misunderstood and the push back is unfair then let's just start again.

But mostly, if a whole forum's worth of women are telling you that your style of posting is coming across as a bit poky fingered, male and chastising then take it on board. Ponder why that might be. If it prevents you from achieving whatever it is you want to achieve here then you are going to have to modify your demands, tone etc - yes, modify your tone, just as so many women have been told to do for millenia!

It's up to you!

Imasoulman · 29/09/2021 15:59

@CuriousaboutSamphire

That's why it's so harmful for everyone when anybody can claim the trans label. Don't tell us. Take that to Stonewall et al!

If more transwomen did that then the constant battle between transwomen and women might actually devolve into a proper conversation.

You never know, socialisation being what it is, you might even get more women going back to nervously looking away and 'allowing' ranswomen into single sex, female spaces again!

But it isn't women who caused this debacle. It is the voice of transpeople, self proclaimed, loud and lobbying on YOUR behalf across the UK right now.

We can't stop it, though we won't stop trying. Maybe now you can see it is your turn - you, as an individual, as part of a group, YOU!

I have said many times that Stonewall does not speak for me, nor does it speak for the majority of my friends. It's an organisation that fought hard for gay rights, did an amazing job and helped bring equality. However having won that fight they suddenly needed a new revenue stream so decided to create a Trans bandwagon which has done nothing but harm to both Women and trans people alike.

I am constantly defending womens right to single sex spaces, I campaign within my small community and have personally talked friends out of using the ladies loo's. Not much in the grand scale but I try.

I don't want anyone to nervously accept me into places where they would be uncomfortable!! That's a horrible thing to do.
I know what I am and I'm not trying to fool anyone

I’m not sure why my comment was deleted? For saying someone was troll hunting? Two of their troll hunting messages were deleted but not the third? Or for quoting a deleted post?

" likes wearing girls' school uniform, including to work"

Well this isn't normal behaviour is it? Not by gender dysphoria standards anyway.

Imasoulman · 29/09/2021 14:38

I have on many debates on this site tried to dis associate the fetish driven cross dressers from the the rest of the Trans community.

I don't understand what you mean by " privilege" in this context.

Of course it's impossible for anyone to be certain of another person's motivation just by looking at them.
That's why it's so harmful for everyone when anybody can claim the trans label.
Hence my constant support of safe single sex spaces.

Gncq · 29/09/2021 14:16

One wonders why the mere mention of many inappropriate or abusive ways in which some males get sexual thrills is denied, is being deodorised, or normalised?

Can anyone think of a way in which that is appropriate in a household around children?

OurMamInHavianas · 28/09/2021 22:38

@Imasoulman

I'm not, that's the last thing I would ever do. I grew up with a violent father, I'm well aware of the importance of safeguarding.

I just get the feeling this isn't genuine, that's just my opinion nothing more

But, if I recall correctly, since you are a biological man who cross dresses you have something of a vested interest in stopping people talking about potential unsavoury behaviours related to cross-dressing.

So your comment seemed rather concerning.

Theunamedcat · 28/09/2021 18:22

Surely you have a safeguarding officer you can discuss this with?

The problem is that many women want to ask about this but all threads get the same response.

Ooh, troll

That's not true

Don't talk about AGP

Don't use the word fetish

Ah, we are taking this down as it does something someone doesn't like...

Every time.

So don't expect other posters to be anything other than exasperated!

allmywhat · 28/09/2021 18:03

Sorry, I got deleted for suggesting that a grown adult male dressing in schoolgirl outfits is a fetish? WTF?

Is it because I used “he?” I don’t even remember if I did, but it’s pretty hard to remember to use female pronouns for a body with bollocks that is heavily involving xir daughters in xir pedophile-lite fetish. 🙄

Just cross dressing, or cross dressing as an adult around other adults is unlikely to raise any eyebrows at social services. The fact that he is dressing in (sexualised?) school girl outfits around his children is more concerning.

I would mention this to your line manager if you have one as a possible safeguarding concern and ask what to do next. If you are self employed, find the children's safeguarding webpage for the local authority where the children live and follow the steps to log a concern.

Nothing bad happens to the family if social services take a look and decide there is no issue; but if the children are at risk of harm it is better to raise the concern than to ignore it.

ArabellaScott · 28/09/2021 16:31

It's not so much the cross dressing per se, but the fact of an adult wearing a school girl's uniform. Especially when there are young girls in the house.
