Just a local London story. Far less interest than Sarah Everard, also in London. Far less interest than Gabby Petito thousands of miles away.

Now whatever is it about Sabina Nesser that provokes this apathy???

On BBC this morning the fraud trial involving a reality TV star was a higher billing...

@Jaysmith71

Would have been different if Sabina had been the victim of an 'honour killing.' Then it would be all over the tab front pages.
Who knows? But if she was was a popular blogger missing in suspicious circumstances with a boyfriend who turned up 10 days later in her van then the police and her family might have decided that publicity could be a good way to try and find her.

It was on the London BBC news last night. Was it on the national news? I am assuming the other murders were on the national news?

It was in the top 10 stories on the BBC News app for a few days and there's a vigil planned for tomorrow night. The case features highly on my Twitter feed (but algorithms I guess).

However, I agree that it hasn't featured in the news as highly as GP and SE. However, these cases feature specific features (GP missing for days having set up a popular blog/SE killed by a copper) that makes them more unusual.

Hundreds of women are killed every year and we barely hear about them. The commonality of it means that it's not newsworthy.

Where are the headlines? Where are the protests? It makes me ashamed how little the media cares.

I’m stunned by it. Though sadly, not surprised.

I’m friends with lots of woke women who are under the age of 30. Every single one of them posted something on their social media feed when Sarah was murdered.

‘She was walking home/Text when you get home’ etc. The unspoken thing was ‘it could have been me’.

Not one of them has posted about Sabina.

I haven’t seen any coverage on it at all. The only reason I know about it is through following Women’s Aid. I shared the post yesterday and two people have reacted to the post. Two!

I know the cases are different in some ways, but I don’t doubt for a second that if the Sabina had been missing the coverage would have been any different.
