The GC what now? Are we the cult?

Twice in the last week or so I've read TRA posts on twitter saying GC fems are a cult. Despite the fact the movement begs for debate and sunlight. No secrecy or pushing for kids to hold secrets from their families.

Is this the latest in "I know you are but what am I" or has this been a claim all along and I haven't noticed?

It is an odd one. Is that what wee Oliver Twist was after all along? I thought it was gruel.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 19/09/2021 10:09

Oh no, strikethrough fail, how embarassing

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 19/09/2021 10:09

I'm just catching up. Did we get to the bottom of the carbonara thing?

It's a strange staple to pick. If you do it the Nigella Lawson way you end up selling your home to afford the carbonara . She favours solid blocks of pancetta. Delicious, and yield amazing amounts of the most gorgeous fat ~that I have been known to drink~ , but second mortgage type expensive sadly.

Doog yrev!

Randgo was an aspidistra surely? Good times

ArabellaScott · 19/09/2021 09:46

We have so far identified as possible Supreme Leader: A talking yucca and/or the witch from Hansel and Gretel.

Do we have them fight it out? I'd suggest a vote but that doesn't seem very culty.

Sophoclesthefox · 19/09/2021 08:09

@ArabellaScott

Now there's an idea. A nice potplant as Supreme Leader. Something large and intimidating like a yucca?

@BlackeyedSusan

I prefer cake though, to be honest.
Weetabix cake?

I am sure there is a pot of Vim in the back of my mum's bathroom cupboard, somewhere. Ok it is probably rock hard and mouldy now and vintage 70's...

@TheABC

Thank you for making me laugh, you bunch of vipers.

So...just to make sure I have the entry requirements down as a Cunty Cultist...
Cake and gin = good
Weetabix = bad

Our slogan is "women won't wheest and our uniform is a T-shirt saying "I love JKR."

I solemnly swear I am up to no good. I want links, evidence and the chance to read everything for myself.

Alternately, Weetabix = bad or Weetabix = No, thank you

You're also missing the neckerchief or other clothing item with a discreet viper pattern or the suffragette tartan.

@ArabellaScott

All thanks to our Glorious and Supreme Leader, MrsOverton. Who is most esteemed. If I can just try to remember who she/he is ...
Well back in the days of the MN hate group + radicalisation portal I've an idea the notional leader was somebody who claimed:

I do live in a house made of confectionery and sweet baked goods. It's my hope that a couple of rosy cheeked youngsters lost in the forest will wander in, I shall enslave one, and the other shall be fattened for consumption.

Vaginal chanting is excellent for pelvic floor tone

I just snorted at this and, well I never got back my pelvic floor tone after pregnancies so umm yeah.

Who mentioned the banana and weetabix monstrosity? You are banished from the clan forthwith.

Dashinghaberdashery · 18/09/2021 21:10

Oh dear I just remembered my laundry outside, currently being darked on. Thanks for the reminder!

Artichokeleaves · 18/09/2021 20:53

Gronda gronda Mrs Overton....

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2021 20:47

'Women won't wheesht' when actually quite often to be perfectly honest I go for nearly a whole day saying very little at all?

Anotheruser02 · 18/09/2021 20:43

Oh what about using language to obscure facts, like "real self" (which can't be based on reality about self) and "erasing peoples existence".
What's our equivalent?

Washing lines, carbonara and cunts - what a thread ! (there's a sentence I never thought I'd type ) Grin

Now about this leader that everyone's forgotten ..... Confused . Have they been abandoned in the Bluestocking?

Ekofisk · 18/09/2021 20:30

Do we need a leader?

I like the idea of a collective where there’s room for differing views on toilet brushes, weetabix and having your laundry darked on.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2021 20:20

MrsOvertonsWindow · 18/09/2021 20:14

What a rather glorious thread Smile

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2021 19:28

@RedDogsBeg

A manifesto, that's what we need! We could do it as a nice list, I love a list.
Put baking soda at the top of the list, it can be dual purpose Cillit Bang replacement and for the cakes.
Waitwhat23 · 18/09/2021 19:13

@Jaysmith71

Leader with quite enough zeal and vim.

I'm afraid I'm out of zeal and vim. Will Cillit Bang and Cif do?

Has to be Cilit Bang Black Mould Spray. Anything else simply isn't worthy.

I suspect I would cause a schism with my thoughts on raisins/sultanas in cakes (an abomination). But I feel a chant of 'cakes! But only nice cakes! No bloody raisins!' might be a bit unwieldy.
