CPS leaves Stonewall

Someody help me.

I know I am not going mad, I just heard this on Radio2 news.

CPS leaves Stnewall, the legality of its advice having been questioned.

But I can't find it being reported anywhere, Google has let me down!

Anyone else hear it?

Anyone find confirmation elsewhere?

Or - what did I mishear?

I also heard this on BBC news bulletin on the school run and thought bloody hell - actual proper reporting from the BBC on this - something like “the scheme has come under fire for giving incorrect advice and misrepresenting the law”.
Yes! That was the sentence in the longer part of it.

I am SO glad it wasn't just me that heard it

And yes @exwhyzed the timing was good. I hadn't appreciated that!

Yes I heard it on radio 2 as well. Very well timed for the school run and also seemed to be the headline of the news bulletin.

I know who it was and his sergeant would probably turn a blind eye - it was foisted upon their ruralness by some 'woke pillock from the smoke'.

That could be a very local call to arms Say No to the Woke from the Smoke! Grin

Any way to evaluate Stonewall's claim that their Diversity Champions scheme is growing? Seems unlikely. Have they put it on sale or something?
It's cheaper than their workplace index scheme so perhaps some employers are downrating their subscription to that.

It will be easier to evaluate when they make an up-to-date list public. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a fair number of the Diversity Champions are in education or healthcare as well as the Civil Serve. All sectors that have well and truly got provision for every other protected characteristic in-hand. Hmm All are strategic organisations for enforcing language changes in key areas so they're obvious targets for Stonewall (via Denton's strategy).

CPS leaves Stnewall, the legality of its advice having been questioned. Fairly mind boggling statement. The Crown Prosecution Service realise it's been taking incorrect advice on the law from a lobby group, and acting on it? How the actual fuck did we get here?
I can not tell you how horrified I am by the lack of due diligence from so many key organisations.

How long will it be until the NHS has to stop this as well. There are many problems with some of the assertions and claims in the 'ally packs' in NHS Scotland (?) and some were scrutinised on MN earlier this year.

The evidence base is flawed. The legal advice is flawed. The display of partiality for one set of protected characteristics over others is absurd. The public money spent on this flawed education, training, and consultancy has to stop.

It has to stop. Full stop.

The JR failed because the CPS argued the champion's scheme was purely about staff. Since then there has been a lot of evidence that the scheme is about all internal and external policies.
