Isn't the Express very pro-Brexit? Don't they support the pro-Brexit view that we should have more (mainly non-white) immigrants from the commonwealth and fewer (mainly white) immigrants from the EU?

There's nothing wrong with talking about Emma's mixed heritage. It is what it is, it's interesting insofar as everybody's background is interesting once they are in the public eye, and of course it's mentioned in the press. The only person who has brought up race - aka skin colour - is Fox Killer. And the only reason he has done this is as some form of gotcha against the Daily Express. He's used an 18 year old CHILD in a political beef that is nothing to do with her, inevitably drawing her into a discussion about how brown/white her skin is, when absolutely nobody was talking about it in the first place.

There's a certain type of privileged progressive person whose main interest in race is that it provides them with a stick to beat other people who they view as being morally inferior.

One reason to do this is to deflect attention away from their privilege. Which is often considerable.

This also applies to other progressive causes.

Not long ago I got chatting with a pleasant-seeming man who had recently moved into my local area. He was extolling it’s virtues and seemed really pleased to have relocated to a place that ticked many of his wish-list boxes - for example, he was able to afford a beautiful flat with a view over greenery close to the private tennis courts that he played at every day…then, as if he suddenly realised that he needed to “check his privilege” he announced:
But it’s not very diverse here, is it?
I replied - assuming he meant racial diversity- no, it’s not, you’d need to move closer to a big city if you want racial diversity.
He said (critical tone): it is such a shame that it’s not more diverse.
I felt he was trying to goad me into an argument so I just said - well perhaps you can’t have everything you want in one place?
He walked away from me. I think he wanted me to join in a middle-class whinge-fest about, oh, such a shame that our community isn’t more DIVERSE.
