I haven’t seen another thread on this today and I know she must be on here - thank you Rosie!

Rosie on Twitter today:

twitter.com/rosieduffield1/status/1436276236049862661?s=21

Hope that’s a clicky link.

Despite the hate you may be getting Rosie, there is a legion behind you!

Eh?? What derailing? Can you provide any examples?

This was @CatherinaJTV's first post on this thread:

Fact is that all of us "selfID" when we use the toilet (or have you ever been asked to show ID or genitals?) and that is legal, according to the EA2010, no GRC needed. Do we want toilet policing like proposed in the US? An armed guard?

Up until then it had been totally focused on Rosie Duffield, but then got derailed into a discussion about toilets, which is what TRAs like Catherina always want to discuss.

@Beefcurtains79

I see. I didn’t mean she should be banned for her badly thought out opinions, just her constant, deliberate derailing.
The derailing can be annoying but again, I think it can be helpful. I lurked for about a year and what made me really see the difference in the quality of the arguments is that threads about any sort of issues are always, always derailed by the usual suspects - almost always along the lines of 'they just want to pee!!!' argument.

Meanwhile, while the Labour party continues ti shit on Rose Duffield, they’re issuing grovelling apologies ti this person

inews.co.uk/news/labour-apologises-youth-chair-launching-investigation-tweets-criticising-transphobia-1194408

And this is why Labour won’t be anywhere near power for years. Tjat they can handle these 2 things so badly shows that they’re just an utter mess. Sadly Keir hasn’t a clue

Waitwhat23 · 12/09/2021 08:29

'This' meaning gender ideology, to clarify.

Waitwhat23 · 12/09/2021 08:28

@Beefcurtains79 of course not. She never answers inconvenient questions. I don't personally think she should be banned - she's a bit of a gift on this board because lurkers can see the lack of rational thinking, the avoidance of questions and how every rational, well evidenced argument made by posters here is met simply with 'you transphobes!'. The lack of any reasonable debate and lack of evidence/answers is very telling and essentially strengthens the fact that this is an anti woman ideology in which women are seen as collateral damage.

Beefcurtains79 · 12/09/2021 07:53

Did CatherinaJTV ever return to the WiSpa thread after calling all the women liars?
How is she not banned?

merrymouse · 12/09/2021 07:03

Re: prisons, you just have to look at the numbers to understand potential problems caused by self ID.

95% of the prison population is male. 20% is in prison for sexual offences. Of the 5% female prison population only 3% are in prison for sexual offences. The number of men in prison just for sexual offences is many times larger than the entire female prison population.

The two populations just aren’t comparable, and the categorisation and resources in women’s prisons reflect this. It’s obvious why even a relatively small transfer from the male estate would be a problem.

However every party except the Conservatives seem to have been drawn into supporting a policy suggested by people who vaguely suggest we should just get rid of prisons when flaws are pointed out.

Starmer isn’t charismatic, but he was supposed to be a safe pair of hands. If that is true he needs to grapple with this problem and stand up for Rosie Duffield. Otherwise he is just as stymied as Cameron ever was by ‘swivel eyed loons’.

Rhannion · 12/09/2021 01:45

@CatherinaJTV

In any case - it's kitchen cleaning time for me. Good night.
Aye away you go !!! You have no honest answer and you are a misogynist.
BettyFilous · 12/09/2021 00:23

Keir is promoting his Party as a viable and credible Party to vote for, it's just risible, how can the public trust him if he can't even keep an elected member of his own Party safe from other members of that Party.

Yep, this. ^

RedDogsBeg · 12/09/2021 00:16

To be honest I don't know either @JacquelineCarlyle, they need asking, journalists should be asking them, and if they are not as it seems then there should be a forum for the public to ask this directly to Keir Starmer and be answered. Keir is promoting his Party as a viable and credible Party to vote for, it's just risible, how can the public trust him if he can't even keep an elected member of his own Party safe from other members of that Party.

JacquelineCarlyle · 12/09/2021 00:06

Who / how can we ask him those questions though @RedDogsBeg ? I'd be up for posing the question but wouldn't have a clue about how to get heard!

RedDogsBeg · 11/09/2021 23:58

@JacquelineCarlyle

I agree - the conference should be cancelled if their female MPs aren't safe. That should be a no-brainer and says a lot about the party that the conference is going ahead, despite the lack of safety for women.
These are the kind of tough questions Keir Starmer should be asked - why is your conference not considered safe for an elected member of Parliament to attend? What are you going to do about it?
EmbarrassingAdmissions · 11/09/2021 23:55

MrsOvertonsWindow · 11/09/2021 23:22

@RedDogsBeg

Appalling that Rosie can't be safe at her own party's conference.

It certainly is, the Labour Party should hang their heads in shame, it was bad enough that women MP's and a BBC reporter required a security detail but to sink to the point where even that would not be enough is, as you say, appalling.

If women MPs aren't safe at conference are any women safe? Maybe the conference needs to be cancelled until the LP have removed the toxic misogynists who are threat to women? Just a thought.

RedDogsBeg · 11/09/2021 22:08

Yes, all credit to Rosie Duffield for speaking out and standing by her words, it takes strength to do so when under such relentless attack. How telling that Rosie cannot attend the Labour Conference due to security concerns. What was that about both sides and be kind again?

How many women are going to require a security detail when attending Labour conferences before Kier wakes up and smells the misogynist coffee his party is brewing?

ChattyLion · 11/09/2021 21:41

Flowers even

ChattyLion · 11/09/2021 21:40

Wow Rosie Duffield is just great. She writes and speaks brilliantly on this issue. Thank you Rosie! She’s an excellent example of a principled politician. [flower]

IsitM · 11/09/2021 21:34

@GrandmaMazur

Have just seen that Rosie Duffield will be missing the labour conference because of security concerns. Am sure Keir Starmer will be vocal in his condemnation against all the abuse and aggression she’s received.
