See this article in the Guardian:

www.google.ie/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2021/sep/07/judith-butler-interview-gender

One of the questions asked was “ It seems that some within feminist movements are becoming sympathetic to these far-right campaigns. This year’s furore around Wi Spa in Los Angeles saw an online outrage by transphobes followed by bloody protests organised by the Proud Boys. Can we expect this alliance to continue?”.....

@MiladyBerserko

We need to rethink the category of 'academic'

THIS.

Some of the most virulent TRA handmaidens are academics. So divorced from reality it's actually embarrassing. They will never in a million years be faced with a prison sentence alongside a violent trans-identified male. They have no CLUE about the lives of the majority of women outside their academic bubble.

@RufustheBadgeringReindeer

even joyous to see what trans men are doing with the category of “men”.

Doesn't even make any sense

Personally id be joyous to see what transmen are doing with the category of women

And ecstatic to see what transwomen are doing with the category of men

That would make so much more sense than destroying sex based reality

It doesn't make any sense, no @RufustheBadgeringReindeer

Just because more people are identifying as men, doesn't mean biological males will suddenly be less of a risk to women, physically or sexually! 'Doing with the category of men' makes it sound like an interior design project! Oh look what we've done with the place! Come inside! It's nice and welcoming now!

Wtf. What planet is she on???

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 07/09/2021 22:02

a couple in person - most women/feminists are not like that, which is good

Thats a relief 😀 its what ive found as well

“ This article was edited on 7 September 2021 to reflect developments which occurred after the interview took place”.

These developments that are not mentioned specifically are actually quite relevant to the whole conversation!

Yeah.....I think it would have been better if they printed it, then issued an apology if they genuinely regretted printing it. It's very interesting to see which questions their reporters ask, and before the pushback, they printed it without a problem (I assume). Really wish someone could provide a screenshot.

indeed - interestingly, that section has been removed from the piece - I wonder what happened there...

@CatherinaJTV I mean, this was your comment about information about super straight being removed from the piece. But you didn't make any comment about about the removal of information regarding the Wi Spa incident. Strange that..

Waitwhat23 · 07/09/2021 21:50

@CatherinaJTV have you got any comments about the Wi Spa incident? The ones GC feminists allegedly made up. The one that TRA's defended, saying that small girls shouldn't look at exposed penises? When it turned out it was in fact a sex offenders taking advantage of self ID and the chilling effect.

GC feminists aren't the ones defending men's right to expose their penis to young children.

Blibbyblobby · 07/09/2021 21:34

@CatherinaJTV

I really enjoyed that read. I, too, think it is striking how trans exclusionary feminists have few concerns regarding reactionary sources/allies.
This is because you do not understand the situation,

nor the concerns of women,

nor the fact that when two very different, indeed usually diametrically opposed groups are saying you are wrong, it does not mean they have suddenly despite all their differences become allies, it means you are so very, very wrong that even groups with nothing else at all in common can see it.

CatherinaJTV · 07/09/2021 21:26

@BrozTito

Im gc but there is definite cosying up to far right stuff going on. That super straight crap for a start

BrozTito · 07/09/2021 21:24

And the Guardian get it wrong sometimes but they have consistently pushed feminism and people like julie bindel. The idea right wing media is anti trans to be pro women is fucking laughable.

Do you know many trans exclusionary feminists then?

@MiladyBerserko

Thanks for that Lettera

Fucking brilliant!

What's the ransom I wonder..

Depending on how much it is we could have a whip round
RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 07/09/2021 21:07

Well a hostage situation would explain a lot 🤔

Given the way they have redefined "far-right" to mean bog standard liberal democrats, it's difficult to take her seriously.

By which I mean, more difficult than it already is given the utter bollocks she writes.

MiladyBerserko · 07/09/2021 20:36

It's striking to me that trans activists align themselves with male sex offenders who bare their penis in places where little girls are.

And then say that little girls are at fault and shouldn't look.

SuperSleepyBaby · 07/09/2021 20:35

The question I quoted is gone from the article? It was there one hour ago but they edited the article and deleted it? Is that right?

EarthSight · 07/09/2021 20:31

This article was edited on 7 September 2021 to reflect developments which occurred after the interview took place

Which edits took place? Did they take out the question you quoted??

Waitwhat23 · 07/09/2021 20:30

I think Catherina thinks she is being clever by leaving out the word radical.

I find it striking that TRA's paint themselves as 'being on the right side of history' but are seemingly happy to align themselves with the incel movement and with sex offenders (Wi Spa incident being one such example). As long as a group hates women, it's cool, right?

EarthSight · 07/09/2021 20:29

Just read the article and I can't see the question you quoted which mentioned the far right. Can anyone point to it?
