Ali for leader.

I also got a call the other night from the local party group who asked ifi wanted to get more involved. I told them I'd joined in order to vote on the leadership. There was an odd silence and I'm still trying to work out if it was a GC silence of agreement or a TERF silence of disapproval. Oh well. I've voted. Have you? Smile

Thanks for the results, WarriorN. As you say, interesting.

And PumpkinSpiceWoman, thanks for your always scintillating wit and wisdom, by TRA standards of course.

TrainedByCats · 23/09/2021 10:49

I’ve voted, hoping for Shahrar Ali and the return of an environmental focussed party

GreenGretel · 22/09/2021 08:13

Voting closes 10pm on Thursday 23rd September. I voted:

  1. Shahrar Ali
  2. Tina Rothery and Martin Hemingway
  3. Ashley Gunstock
  4. RON

All of the other candidate teams have put lots of effort into pushing gender self-ID; Amelia Womack is behind disciplinary actions against women who question gender identity ideology. Carla Denyer was an organiser of the 'take-over' of Green Party Women by gender ideologists last year; GPW has since stopped all the good work it was doing (online workshops, book group, weekly yoga for key workers etc) and has only rarely communicated with its members. They only had one aim - and that was to delegitimise dissent over self-ID.

LOLeater · 21/09/2021 18:06

Voted

  1. Ali 2. Hemingway/Rothay 3 RON

I really hope that I will be able to vote Green in the next election but obviously that won’t be happening if the party doesn’t recognise my sex and the sex-based discrimination women face.

Thanks for the reminder, I kept meaning to hunt through my emails for the voting code (eventually discovered it in the deleted emails folder so I expect it went straight to junk). Have now voted.

WarriorN · 20/09/2021 20:32

Bumping as I'd still not done it and it closes on Thursday....

CircularReasoning · 09/09/2021 22:39

Ron sounds like a cracking bloke. He's getting loads of votes

Nopetryagain · 09/09/2021 20:50

My email had gone to my junk folder

EyesOpening · 09/09/2021 20:42

have you tried the Contact Us, page on their website? www.greenparty.org.uk/contact.html

LumpySpacedPrincess · 09/09/2021 20:26

I joined on the 19th August.

EyesOpening · 09/09/2021 19:49

@LumpySpacedPrincess I saw this on another thread: The election for a new leader runs for 3 weeks in September - and to vote in that you need to have been registered as a member by this Friday 27th Aug.
Did you join in time?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 09/09/2021 17:54

Still no email with info how to vote..

SpringCrocus · 09/09/2021 12:32

And I took great delight in voting for Julia Lagoutte!

SpringCrocus · 09/09/2021 12:31

I've voted, Ali for Leader!

Cattenberg · 08/09/2021 21:30

I voted 1 Ali, 2 Tina and Martin, 3 RON.

For the benefit of our self-appointed monitors, I first joined the Green Party six or seven years ago and spent a good few hours delivering leaflets for our 2015 General Election campaign. I stopped renewing my membership after the party started referring to women as “non-men” and due to the shameful mishandling of the Challenor scandal.

I have recently rejoined, but not to “cause trouble”. I hope this election will enable the party to get back on track and focus on the Climate Crisis. We don’t have much time left and we’re wasting it.

It should go without saying that the Green Party should implement robust safeguarding procedures and check they are being followed. It should also go without saying that the party must respect ALL of the protected characteristics listed in the Equality Act, in the course of its work.

Glinner has some recommendations

Anotheruser02 · 08/09/2021 19:40

I only voted for Ali too.

Copied from elsewhere:

For those of you interested in statistics, here is the percentage breakdown for each position:

E&D coordinator: Rashid Nix & Zi Neil 66.4%, Ash Routh 32.3%, RON 1.3%.

Finance coordinator: Jon Nott 95.2%, RON 4.8%.

Internal comms coordinator: Zoe Hatch 59.2%, Alexander Sallons 39.7%, RON 1.1%.

Local party support coordinator: Duncan Kerr 16.1%, Daniel Laycock & Lyndsay McAteer 19.1%, Tay Pitman 17.4%, Rosie Rawle 47%, RON 0.4%.

Policy development coordinator: Vix Lowthion 94.3%, RON 5.7%.

Publications coordinator: Rachel Collinson & Kathryn Bristow 48%, Julia Lagoutte 50.9%, RON 1.1%.

The last one is interesting.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 02/09/2021 23:10

Done - voted for 1 Ali, 2 Tina and Martin, 3 RON. I’m longing for the gender-woo crowd to lose interest and wander off, so we can get back to protecting the environment.

Does anyone know when we’ll see the result of August’s votes, for the other roles?

singittome · 02/09/2021 22:57

Done and voted for Ali.

LizzieSiddal · 02/09/2021 22:30

I received an email today and will vote for Ali.

Iveputmyselfonthenaughtystep · 02/09/2021 21:26
