LibDem activist delighted by this. Here are two of her tweets. The gay man who turned up in an LGB hat and t-shirt was allegedly advised by police to leave for his own safety and seems to have had the hat stolen.

Another young fool tweeted that 'bullying the guy in the LGB Alliance shirt who came to the protest march is my favourit part of Pride so far xx'. He has since deleted this (possibly because he is now sober and/or has seen how many people had reported this to his employers) and now claims he was just chanting 'Trans lives matter!'. 'Bullying' is an odd choice of words for this. How could anyone think admitting publicly to 'bullying' was a good look?

The LGB Alliance man has been advised that people shouting at him is actually assault if he wants to take it further. Doesn't sound like he does, though.

Unedifying, to say the least.

It really is chilling.

BraveBananaBadge · 29/08/2021 23:24

Have been following this all day with increasing dismay. A response under the LGBA tweet (I think, I've clicked through a few threads) dismisses Alexander Bramhall by saying "he's not gay, he's anti trans".

There you have it. I'm absolutely done with that shit.

In my best Troy McClure voice:

You may remember her from various LD bullshit and scandals such as the Natalie Bird situation and the support for a certain former green who was subsequently removed from the LDs. She has links with autism charities in the Manchester area.

April is part of the Radical Association and the LD clique with the usual suspects from the LDLGBT group.

She's cropped up a few times on MN discussions...

It is frightening Floral. This is all so bloody wrong. Flowers

FloralBunting · 29/08/2021 23:14

Today has been a really black day. It really has. The open, bitter homophobia that has vomited out in response to this has been quite honestly terrifying.

I am now incredibly mindful about where I go, what I wear and how I come out to people. I see a rainbow badge or lanyard and it's a red flag to watch myself just in case. I was presumed to be trans a couple of weeks ago. I think I would not correct someone who thought that now, because to say I was a lesbian would feel I was painting a target on myself from a QT+ person. I already feel exposed by the local yobs who just shout the old-fashioned d**e slur.

This is the reality for LGB people today. Don't let anyone pretend otherwise.

According to genderists, biological sex is irrelevant and the only thing that matters is gender feelings which can only be decided by the individual and can't be observed by anyone else.

That approach isn't very helpful in the real world. Particularly when it comes to safeguarding.

OldCrone · 29/08/2021 23:04

They might decide their gender as female. It's clear what their biological sex is though.

This is what self-ID means.

@littlbrowndog

You are what you say. 😖😖😖
You are also what they say you are, even if you say you aren’t…
Quaggersx · 29/08/2021 23:02

Quaggersx · 29/08/2021 23:01

What do you mean, "viewed as"?
If they've stated their gender then that's what their gender is.

@InspiralCoalescenceRingdown

"trans lives matter" is that cultural appropriation?

Is it like "blue lives matter"?

Yes, yes it is. Not shocked that they’re getting away with it, after they have appropriated the rainbow flag and Pride from LGB, so why not appropriate BLMs identity as well? In a decade, I expect they’ll be counter protesting BLM marches as trans phobic for not being TLM marches.
littlbrowndog · 29/08/2021 22:47

BigNothing · 29/08/2021 22:43

@Quaggersx

How and earth can that person be viewed as a transwoman. Is that a mistake?
What do you mean, "viewed as"? If they've stated their gender then that's what their gender is. what gender actually is, is never explained exactly, but it's a feeling, so no-one can view it.

The comments are great though

They're so brave and stunning.

They, however, are very lucky that us lot tend not to stoop to their level in terms of doxing etc.

littlbrowndog · 29/08/2021 22:32

Chilling. Look at the guy in the black jeans and top. Just chilling to see this this hate.

@Fitt

I was reading that there's been complaints that the event headline act was a straight man, this has disappointed twinks according to Pink News (their word) who would prefer a famous woman to headline along the lines of Ariana. The reaction to the complaints is that they should be glad it's someone from the "community".

The man they picked can be seen online with a string of girlfriends, but because he's been interviewed once when he asserted himself to be pansexual, he's in the queer community!

It really is a heterosexual event now, without the "queer" heterosexual pound it would collapse from lack of interest.

Shock PN are treating ever greater numbers of people with utter contempt each week.

@AdoptedBumpkin

Not very liberal is she? Surely this goes against the ethos of her party.
No, not really.

There is an interesting thread on that, here.

Artichokeleaves · 29/08/2021 21:52

If you want to see 'hate' and intolerance and really ugly nastiness towards others, read that Twitter thread. What the actual fuck has 'Pride' become when anyone feels it's appropriate to speak to another human being like this just because they disagree with them?

This used to be a celebration of tolerance and diversity, it used to be a very safe, happy occasion. It was not the LGB who changed this.
