Gay man 'bullied' off Manchester Pride for wearing LGB Alliance hat and t-shirt

LibDem activist delighted by this. Here are two of her tweets. The gay man who turned up in an LGB hat and t-shirt was allegedly advised by police to leave for his own safety and seems to have had the hat stolen.

Another young fool tweeted that 'bullying the guy in the LGB Alliance shirt who came to the protest march is my favourit part of Pride so far xx'. He has since deleted this (possibly because he is now sober and/or has seen how many people had reported this to his employers) and now claims he was just chanting 'Trans lives matter!'. 'Bullying' is an odd choice of words for this. How could anyone think admitting publicly to 'bullying' was a good look?

The LGB Alliance man has been advised that people shouting at him is actually assault if he wants to take it further. Doesn't sound like he does, though.

Unedifying, to say the least.

I found my way here because i know April Preston and she claimed on fb that her partner and son were being ‘come for’ on mumsnet. Lo and behold none of the sort. Anyway there is some context to what happened at pride because it seems that she has recently been affected by a suicide which of course is tragic. That doesnt give her the right to blame it on women or gay men, its out of order.

Can you post pictures on here?

Datun · 30/08/2021 08:53

The Denton report makes it quite clear that transgenderists deliberately set out to use the LGB 'community' as cover to legitimise their activism and goals. Slightly bizarrely, given they are in direct conflict with one another.

Now LGB people point blank refusing the forced teaming exposes the entire issue and the homophobia behind it.

Although, going as far as kicking a gay man out of gay pride for being gay was slightly more blinding sunlight than even I would have anticipated.

'Fluxating femme euphoria'?

So, that means presumably that this person from time to time feels a huge surge of intense joy at the thought of being a woman?

Just trying to work out what it means. If it means anything at all.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/08/2021 08:46

@Quaggersx

Gosh, so my namesake has changed names, and I've accidentally taken a name similar to their old one? Now I can see how that could get confusing.
Don't worry about it. It's really amusing - the thought of you being Quaagers ex made me smile, anyway

And as others have said, they have a style all of their own and we, regular posters here, tend to recognise it in all its stubborn, repetitive unthinkingness.

Welcome in, I look forward to reading more of you 😁

Gay not Fay ffs!!!
Ha! Fay sounds like one of those twee pronouns ...wretched predictive text strikes again

Brave and stunning?

Us lot?

Brave and stunning was in relation to the Twitter post that was directly above my post. "Us lot" was in reference to GC's who tend not to dox people.

Self described as a transwoman without the conviction to go through tranistion. Glad they cleared that up, otherwise I might have mistaken them as an aggressive violent homophobic toxic male.

Phew.

That's the problem with having with a beard and no conviction I guess...

Cripes indeed. Someone in the comments describes him as ' the blokiest bloke who ever bloked'. Confused

Gay not Fay ffs!!!

joystir59 · 30/08/2021 07:37

I feel sorry for anyone out there who had struggled to come out as Fay and no longer has the ability to march with their brothers and sisters in what was a wonderfully affirmative and celebratory Gay Pride march. A march that always was a protest march against homophobia, in support of everyone dealing with homophobia here and across the world, including countries where to be gay is still a criminal offence.

GromblesofGrimbledon · 30/08/2021 06:54

@wellbehavedwomen

And if you knew anything about LGB Alliance, you'd know that there are a fair number of trans members, who are as pissed off as everyone else with the abuse of women and gay people intrinsic to modern trans activism.

The trans members of LGBA are always conveniently ignored forgotten about.

The likes of those who hounded this poor man out of the Pride event would even say that any trans person who supports the LGBA is transphobic.

Aparallaxia · 30/08/2021 01:54

I'd bet my boots the Funky Gibbon person who is a non-binary demiflux girl with a penis and testicles is really, really unhappy with lesbians who don't want to sleep with him, and would be opposed to them publicly self-identifying as non-penis-lovers.

wellbehavedwomen · 30/08/2021 01:36

@NoNotMeNoSiree

So anything that doesn't have a T on it is anti T is it?

Oh, come on.
Really?!
Of course it isn't.
Of course someone who is a lesbian can wear a tshirt celebrating being a lesbian.
Of course someone who is gay can wear a tshirt celebrating being gay.
You seriously can't see the difference between your examples and wearing an LGB tshirt which is trans exclusionary at an L G B T event?
(Highlighted T just because people keep conviently pretending it's not there.)
You really can't?
OK then.

Lesbians who explicitly want to exclude anyone male wouldn't be allowed, no. You know this as well as we do. You do. And I am bemused that you want to pretend it's okay.

It's Pride, and gay people have to be open, at least pretend to be, to opposite sex partners, or they are threatened, harassed, and unwelcome at what is meant to be a celebration of same sex attraction and love.

That's homophobia.

And if you knew anything about LGB Alliance, you'd know that there are a fair number of trans members, who are as pissed off as everyone else with the abuse of women and gay people intrinsic to modern trans activism. Plenty of trans people are very aware that sex and gender are different, and there needs to be provision and support for us all. They're being badly let down by the misogynists who claim to speak for them, and instead speak over, and for, them.

There doesn't need to be a fucking war. All that's necessary is for the differences to be acknowledged, and provision made for all. If you aren't asking questions about why so many men are eager cheerleaders for trans activism - often with slurs for trans people buried in their social media when people dig - then I suggest that you have a bit of a think about it. It's almost as if they enjoy seeing women's rights stripped from us, and our ability to talk about our lives and our bodies curtailed, isn't it, and as if they've never had any interest in the rights of women or gay people or ethnic minorities, but are suddenly all over trans activism.

I wonder why that could possibly be?

wellbehavedwomen · 30/08/2021 01:21

@BilindaB

LGB Alliance was set-up NOT to support LGB people, but to attack trans people, help strip them of rights and to thwart any progress they might make.

And I expect many people here know that, and support those aims.

What rights are being denied?

Trans people have, and should have, protection from discrimination and abuse based on trans status. Nobody decent thinks that should change. They are one of the safest demographics in this country; the murder rate, contra to endless assertion, is about half the average. Why people are invested in lying to trans people about this and telling terrifying lies of a world out to kill them, I don't pretend to know. I do agree that casual transphobia is likely to be common, and that in eg employment and housing there will be real challenges. I agree that it's important that trans people have effective advocacy in these areas, and I also believe that the same violent and aggressive men invested in controlling women, and policing sexuality, will be a threat to trans people. To that extent, women, gay people and trans people all do have a common source of risk, and that should be an area for co-operation and shared goals. But we're never offered that. We're not asked to support shelters for trans women - which almost all women I know would. Instead, we're told we have no right to single sex spaces, free of male bodies. We're told lesbians who don't accept 'girl dick' have no excuse unless they've been raped, in which case they should seek therapy to overcome that trauma and open their minds. This is simple homophobia, and it's foul. And yet you see no reason for separate LGB advocacy? Seriously?

Trans people have their own advocacy and support groups, as of course is appropriate. Women, and gay people, have that same right. Your claims were put to The Charity Commission, who found them specious and unfounded. As I suspect you very well know. You are the one trying to strip others of rights - the sex-based rights women and gay people currently have under the Equality Act. You are literally describing the removal of the protection women and gay people have in law as 'progress'. You are asserting male supremacy, and homophobia, and calling it progress, and arguing that those who oppose that loss of rights and protections are hateful... because we do not centre male people who are opposite-sex attracted.

It is not hateful to recognise the impact of biological sex in areas where it matters. Transition can only ever be social; the risks and advantages of original biology do not change substantially - transwomen pose a male, and not a female, risk to women - and it's completely legitimate of women to need and expect a right to single sex provision in areas where that matters. And if you think it is hateful for gay people to want to protect their right to be same sex attracted, then you are asserting homophobia. As the Guardian did, when sending a lesbian on a blind date with a male person without warning her, because that male feels that they have a woman's gender identity, so they felt opposite sex dating didn't need the lesbian's consent. And you see no problem here? None at all?

Nobody should suffer any harm or abuse or discrimination due to trans status; it's rightly against the law. It's also protected law that in some contexts, sex matters. Women and gay people have legal protection in those relevant areas, too. Yet you want those rights stripped from us, and you call any attempt to prevent that hateful.

I don't want anyone to lose rights. That's your position.

Exactly, that's what I asked what meant along with brave and stunning.

Well you grouped yourself in a category of us. Which sounded odd.

You may recall I posted that thread from a (bisexual) woman who said LGB Alliance had been really supportive of her when she approached them about detransitioning.

Here's a tweet from her on how the anti- LGB Alliance lot have treated her today since she dared say something positive about LGB Alliance.

Another day on Twitter: I post a heartfelt thread about how I've been insulted and threatened for being a detransitioner but thanking those who've been kind to me, and get replies like “fucking idiot,” “shut the fuck up TERF,” “Suck me,” and, of course, a photo of a guys arse. t.co/0aoO8OUu3h

Right side of history, though, eh?

Enough4me · 29/08/2021 23:36

Hey let's be inclusive and be kind said the LGBT+ group we are a friendly bunch...oh, they didn't...they laughed at a gay man because he thinks same sex attraction is valid. They were homophobic to him.

The LGBT+ is now not related to sexuality and is gender based T ideology only.
