And by ‘peaked’ I mean my usually mild mannered don’t rock the boat just be kind oh mums going on about that trans stuff again ABSOLUTELY LOST HIS SHIT at 17yo DD telling him ‘super straight’ is transphobic as fuck.

I’ve never heard him swear as much as he did at DD telling him ladycock is a thing. He’s not remotely homophobic but being told he should theoretically accept ladycock into his sex life was a tipping point.

He gets it now.

OP posts:
BatmansBat · 27/08/2021 14:22

For people not knowing what ladydicks are (and who don’t want to google), I believe that quite a few were tweeted as pictures at JK Rowling. On a Twitter feed aimed at children. Baroness Nicholson got a few as well. Some may still be there.

Baroness Nicholson got fewer after she answered one tweet so her entire Twitter following saw the picture (and Twitter profile)

JK Rowling was worried about the children, (no answers) but I think the pictures were fewer after she a) involved her solicitors and b) threatened to rate them out of 10. She said something along the lines of “the highest so far is 5/10 and that was only for the effort the owner went through covering it in glitter”.

@Marguerite2000

This quite funny really. I was a teenager in the '70s and this kind of self indulgent shite wouldn't have been tolerated for a second. You'd be told to grow the fuck up, get out and find a job, and consider yourself lucky if the 'shouting at' wasn't accompanied by a smack around the head.
Granted I'm a bit younger than you but I was thinking the same thing Marguerite

Although DS is not much older than OPs DD and it wouldn't fly for him either.

VirgilStarkwell · 27/08/2021 14:11

extreme nativity

Amen to this. If conception is immaculate, who cares which genitals are being used, amirite kids?

These are real issues being asked by people. The fact I can’t answer a simple question about it is outrageous.

I said exactly what trans women say lady dick is. How is that a deletable offence? It is because I expressed incredulity that we’re all being expected to go along with it?

Popetthetreehugger · 27/08/2021 14:05

I’m sorry I can’t tag any of the posts , but , dear god ! Do ever think we’ve woken up on the wrong side of the looking glass ? A person with a penis saying I’m a woman and if you don’t happily have sex with me your all sorts of wrong . I can’t see this ending well for people born without penises or those who … you know what I’m lost … I wish you a path out of this mess 💐💐💐

HermioneKipper · 27/08/2021 14:02

Two of my comments have been deleted answering the question about what lady dick is. I’ve asked mumsnet hq why this is.

I said nothing abusive.

This is ridiculous

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 27/08/2021 14:01

Aaaaand I can't spell

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 27/08/2021 14:00

Sorry forgot to say - that could be what LOOSING HIS SHIT looks like in OPs house

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 27/08/2021 13:59

@SquirryTheSquirrel

The pearl clutching over a shouting match.

There's a difference between a shouting match and someone who ABSOLUTELY LOST HIS SHIT .

Anyone who has had experience of the latter will know how terrifying it is.

TBF though OPs husband may rarely, if ever swear or raise his voice.

Therefore when the volume goes up a few decibels and he exclaims "What a load of shit" it stands out.

It really isn't abuse.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 27/08/2021 13:57

Seriously, a heated discussion with a teen about something quite important which gets a bit sweary is not the child abuse some believe it is Confused

However letting our kids enter relationships thinking that they are not permitted a genital preference is on the way to it and is jolly big problem indeed.

nauticant · 27/08/2021 13:53

That finally became the prevailing view a few decades back Crystalvas and then for some reason, from maybe a decade ago, there's been a strong push by trans activists to overturn this. We are living in strange times.

Crystalvas · 27/08/2021 13:50

@BatmansBat

. *@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy* If someone born a male suddenly realises /decides that they are female, they are a woman. And their dick is a ladydick / ladycock. And obviously lesbians (and now increasingly straight men) need to change their sexual preferences to include ladycock.

It appears that many straight men are…more vocal..in their protests. Like the OPs partner…

No one needs to change their sexual preferences to suit anyone. A persons sexuallity is entirely their own business.
Scrapper142 · 27/08/2021 13:47

However, it is still ok to use bisexual if you are a woman attracted to men and amab enbies. (Ie, men and men wearing eye-liner.) Or a man attracted to women and afab enbies. (Ie, women and women with short hair and wearing baggy t-shirts.)

Not sure where to even start with this gem!

So if I went and had a haircut and put one of my many baggy t-shirts on my BF would be bi-sexual. What happens when I put a blouse on? Is he straight again?

Regressive bullshit!

nauticant · 27/08/2021 13:42

Purplewithred: very few transwomen have gender reassignment surgery. Therefore, most, probably nearly all, still have their male genitalia. Some transwomen, and many trans activists, take the view that because "transwomen are women" and that a surgical transition is irrelevant to someone become a transwoman, then an unmodified transwoman's body is a woman's body, and the genitalia of that body is a woman's genitalia. In other words, there might be a penis but it's a penis on a woman's body, ie a ladycock.

Just for the sake of clarity, although I'm explaining, this is not a position I go along with.

stepupandbecounted · 27/08/2021 13:39

I learned that lesson with dragon butter thank you Grin You win the post of the week from me!!!

BluebellsGreenbells · 27/08/2021 13:36

all Purplewithred

It’s a boy in a dress who is a lesbian dating OPs daughter.

Purplewithred · 27/08/2021 13:32

Am I the only one who doesn't know what ladycock is/means/relates to?

And no, I'm not going to google it, I learned that lesson with dragon butter thank you.

stepupandbecounted · 27/08/2021 13:31

Everyone is entitled to their own sexual preferences and can say no based on anything. And they’re no transphobic as a result!

If only that were true.

They were the good old days when you can actually choose what kind of person you want to sleep with, and not be labelled as anything sinister for doing so. We are in the enlightened age of being silenced now. We have to accept everything or else..

trancepants · 27/08/2021 13:29

@3peassuit

When did bisexuality get to be considered transphobic? I don’t get any of this made up identity malarkey.
If by saying you are bisexual you are setting out to say that you are attracted to people of two sexes, that's transphobic because you are saying there are two sexes and it's assumed you are only interested in ciswomen and cis men. Though I see no reason at all why someone can't be attracted to a transperson and not be bisexual. I mean of course they could.

However, it is still ok to use bisexual if you are a woman attracted to men and amab enbies. (Ie, men and men wearing eye-liner.) Or a man attracted to women and afab enbies. (Ie, women and women with short hair and wearing baggy t-shirts.)

HermioneKipper · 27/08/2021 13:26

@PrincessNutella

Men are allowed to have sexual boundaries, too, ffs.
What? Of course they are - that’s the whole point of the thread!

Everyone is entitled to their own sexual preferences and can say no based on anything. And they’re no transphobic as a result!

HermioneKipper · 27/08/2021 13:25

@SquirryTheSquirrel oh go and derail somewhere else FFS. The OP’s daughter hardly sounds like a delicate flower who was terrified. Sounds like she gave as good as she got. And while being extremely disrespectful to boot.

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 27/08/2021 13:25

I think op may have been referring to the seen the light element and perhaps not the words used, that was my interpretation anyway

Same

AssignedNorthern · 27/08/2021 13:25

@Jaysmith71

Sounds a bit Peter Pan to me:

Tinkerbelle will die unless you all say aloud that you believe in her. ...Them. ...Whatever.

Comment of the day!
stepupandbecounted · 27/08/2021 13:24

And men are definitely allowed to have sexual boundaries, and be able to vocalise those boundaries if they want to.
