Apparently:
“If any young person, including a transgender young person, is concerned about sharing a room with others, you could consider making alternative arrangements, including giving them their own room where appropriate. If any young person voices a concern, this should be considered – responses should be reasonable and proportionate, taking into account the rights of all young people. If showers are communal, find out if there are single-cubicle or private washing facilities which could be used by any young person, including a transgender young person, who would like greater privacy.”

Doesn't chime with what I hear - which is that transgirls are girls and so must be accommodated and anyone who objects is the one likely to be found other arrangement.

Masses of false equivalence with section 28 and past treatment of LGB people.

Sounds like the sort of thing JKR might say. I expect we’ll be seeing signs saying “kill Crispin Blunt” any moment now.

“If any young person, including a transgender young person, is concerned about sharing a room with others, you could consider making alternative arrangements, including giving them their own room where appropriate.

This relates to "people concerned about sharing a room with others", so the trans person would never be asked to use a third space, but if they prefer one they can have one.

It's very slyly worded. If you know anything about Blunt you will know that he's not a fan of women's rights.

It does. It means the transphobe can ask to move and be othered. I wonder what happens when all the girls ask?

Tibtom · 20/08/2021 13:51

It is not clear whether the girls has to be moved out of the girls changing room or the boy in that piece. And why do the girls have to speak up and face potential social opprobium before their rights are considered?

NecessaryScene · 20/08/2021 13:49

He sounds a bit transphobic to me...

Helleofabore · 20/08/2021 13:44

Oops. Posted too soon.

It does seem that it is reasonable. But then I have not read the article in full.

I assume it is the one who complains that gets moved from your post.

Helleofabore · 20/08/2021 13:43

Yes. There is not the usual explain that they are transphobic and need re-education like others.

However,
