Just watching BBC news. They interviewed Fallon Fox who stated that there is no scientific advantage for a transitioned mtf athlete in women’s sports!
This is just so wrong!

I think Nicola from FPFW was on the 10am one, along with Natalie from Pride Sport...
But I maybe wrong...

I’m really confused now, I can’t seem to find the one with Nicola W on now, wasn’t that the 10am one but the 9am wasn’t available? And now the 10am is but the 9am one isn’t?
And I can’t find my comment earlier this morning, saying which one was unavailable!

As a woman said recently “ it’s not feelings that play sports, it’s bodies”

Konyeshno · 02/08/2021 22:21

I've also made a complaint. In the many years that I've been GC, today has made me more angry and fired up for action than any other. I am incandescent.

RoseAndGeranium · 02/08/2021 21:10

I will be complaining too.
Men are not excluded from women’s sport because they do not feel like women or wish to be called women. They are excluded because their bodies are different. It is not a question of gender or identification, but of physical condition. To frame this in terms accepted by TRAs, just as some men are able to give birth and die of ovarian cancer, so some women should get their prostates checked, can produce sperm, and are physically constructed in a way that means they should compete against male bodied people in sports. If this is really about words then fine: do away with ‘women’ and ‘men’ as sporting categories and allow people to compete as XX and XY (and variations).

Chickenyhead · 02/08/2021 20:47

Complained about the choice and affirmation of FF. I'm sure they could have found someone who doesn't detest the very sex they purport to identify as. Surely?

PamDenick · 02/08/2021 20:44

Hopefully the country (and the world) is peaking now.

HUMANS WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH MALE PUBERTY HAVE HUGE STRENGTH ( and therefore sporting) ADVANTAGES.
It is not hateful, bigoted or right wing to state that.

Shame on you, BBC.

WarOnWoman · 02/08/2021 20:10

I've complained about the Tweet. I've complained about the longer interview. I've complained about FF.

PeakBBC.

Selkiesarereal · 02/08/2021 19:22

I am absolutely disgusted by this especially getting a sounbite from Fallon Fox.

I will also complain but wondering whether we should contact our MP’s? Mine is utterly useless but don’t know if even Baroness Nicholson would be interested?

Rhannion · 02/08/2021 19:01

Please send the bbc an avalanche of complaints using every avenue we can. This is too important to not at least try to hold them to account.

Rhannion · 02/08/2021 18:58

You can also complain by phone, I did. All calls are recorded

NiceGerbil · 02/08/2021 18:09

Yes this menstruating vagina owner has had enough as well.

Dehumanising!

Feelingoktoday · 02/08/2021 18:07

@TheMarzipanDildo

"Sounds pretty dehumanising, that it's about sex not about feelings."

Funny how the people who come out with this nonsense don’t give a single shit about the feelings of female athletes Angry

I cannot believe someone can say that about top level sport. “It’s not about sex but feelings”. I’ve had enough. I really have.
NiceGerbil · 02/08/2021 17:58

Found the link still not available

NiceGerbil · 02/08/2021 17:54

I'm gonna complain.

Interviewing an individual who has said they love smashing the skulls of women who disagree with her, while she's in the ring. Is pretty far over the line imo.

Gonna watch it first- BBC news was it?

Jaysmith71 · 02/08/2021 17:36

What programme/channel was this said on?

BBC News Channel sports bulletin.

EyesOpening · 02/08/2021 16:50
Here's the link to the BBC complaints process: www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints
Thank you for the link, I’ll send in my complaint after I’ve had dinner

NiceGerbil · 02/08/2021 16:34

Any ovulators on the thread care to respond on the travesty of trans athletes apparently being reduced to their body parts?

BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 16:34

@Jaysmith71

More insidious bias from Lucy Hocking in the latest update:

"Many" will see Hubbard's competing as a landmark for inclusion, but "some" will see it as undermining women's sport...

Yes, 'many' signifies a large number; and 'some' indicates a small number.

The irony is that the opposite is the reality: most will see the participation of biological males as undermining women's sport.

What programme/channel was this said on?

BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 16:30

"I think that I complained about that on the basis of offence but I'm not 100% sure."

Yes, I picked Offence for that one.

Perhaps it is a good sign that the bulletin in question isn't available on iPlayer. Though perhaps it's just to reduce the number of complaints they have to dismiss...

FloralBunting · 02/08/2021 16:29

Oh, fuck you, BBC. Fuck you very much.

nauticant · 02/08/2021 16:26

And will they stop saying it is complex! It is not complex.

It is complex. The point is that the complexity isn't actually relevant to the core issue of fairness in competitive sport at the elite level. Another issue where "complexity" is a red herring is safety.

BaronMunchausen · 02/08/2021 16:17

...that 10am news bulletin is still not available.

Everything else is.

MoreRainThanAnyYet · 02/08/2021 16:02

showing inspirational figures for children to look up to and think 'I can be like them'

What, male?

That's not a realistic aspiration for a little girl.
