Just watching BBC news. They interviewed Fallon Fox who stated that there is no scientific advantage for a transitioned mtf athlete in women’s sports!
This is just so wrong!

I’ll await for my response. My complaint was that they quoted Fallon Fox as stating ‘there is no sporting advantage to those who have been through male puberty”
Which is an untruth

same response today too, at least we kept them busy

mum2jakie · 18/08/2021 19:56

I had an identical response today too.

JoantheVampireSlayer · 18/08/2021 19:17

Got a response from the BBC today...

Thanks for writing to us about BBC News.

I appreciate you have concerns about Victoria Fritz’ questioning when discussing trans athlete, Laurel Hubbard with Natalie Washington (Pride Sport).

It is the role of our presenters to explore different sides of a debate and to ask the questions that would be on the mind of our audience.

Victoria was asking Natalie for her reaction to the previous interviewees opinion on Laurel Hubbard competing in women’s weightlifting. However, we do accept that she could have phrased the question better on this occasion.

Your concerns have been fed back to the news team and thank you for getting in touch.

PamDenick · 12/08/2021 08:41

Yup. Delayed response.
I do feel a bit sorry for the BBC at present as all sorts of complaints atm (did you hear the anti vaxxer on Jeremy Vine?) but I feel I was right to complain about Fallon Fox. I didn’t say BBC has been fully Stonewalled as I want to be factual and respectful in making a complaint…

I've had an another automated response from the BBC due to my complaint about the BBC News coverage. They said the response will be delayed due to an unusually high level of complaints. Hopefully lots of complaints about their biased coverage around biological males competing in women's sport!

zighead · 04/08/2021 12:38

@beastlyslumber

Very good article. Can't believe these individuals aren't embarrassed or ashamed of their infiltration into women's sport. Wonder if their friends and families ever say anything to them about it Confused.

beastlyslumber · 04/08/2021 11:28

I like the critic. Another good article from them here: thecritic.co.uk/every-sport-is-male-sport/

PamDenick · 03/08/2021 17:47

The critic.

Sorry, not very good at links...

Mail article

Weird suggestion that they will be reporting anyone questioning their right to compete to the 'relevant' authorities. Sinister, or what.

Needmoresleep · 03/08/2021 16:40

The link does not work. Misspelling?

There’s another thread today. An article in The Critic regarding the bias in the BBC.

I’m guessing that shortly after I watched Dr Nic & the person after, they must have taken it down, as immediately after, I looking for the one with FF, not realising it was in the same one.

EyesOpening · 03/08/2021 10:27

Thanks all

"What do you mean exactly by a sound bite? A little video clip? I want to get my facts right before I complain."

At around 10.04 on th3 BBC News Channel on Monday August 2nd 2021, reporter Lucy Hocking in Tokyo interviewed Fallon Fox.

Around half an hour later, presenter Victoria Fritz in the studio conducted the interview with Nicola Williams and paid it off with the comment about how unfair that it was about sex and not feelings.

cariadlet · 03/08/2021 09:32

@EyesOpening There was a video, probably a couple of minutes long, of FF talking to camera about the importance of trans women being included in women's sports. The presenter said that FF was a transwoman and former MMA fighter. There was no interaction between the presenter and FF so I assume it was a pre-recorded interview.

mum2jakie · 03/08/2021 09:31

I watched it yesterday morning live on BBC2. The clip with FF was very short - a pre recorded statement and not an interview. It would have aired just after 10am on BBC2. I wasn't aware of their history when I watched yesterday but found this thread as I was watching the same programme.

The longer interview about the topic started at 10.22 am yesterday with the presenter displaying a clear bias towards the second (pro trans) speaker.

Very strange that the entire segment is missing from iPlayer. Hopefully due to the large number of complaints received!

Selkiesarereal · 03/08/2021 09:20

Thanks for this as I was so enraged by the use of Fallon Fox that I have complained.

I doubt it will do any good but at least they are aware of mine and hopefully many others feelings on this.

cariadlet · 03/08/2021 08:59

I wonder if the 10 0 clock news has been taken off Iplayer because of complaints about FF. I'm guessing that who ever decided to put that clip in was completely clueless about FF's history.

EyesOpening · 03/08/2021 08:52

@PamDenick

The Fallon Fox was a quick sound bite a little earlier.
What do you mean exactly by a sound bite? A little video clip? I want to get my facts right before I complain. I watched Dr Nic and the Pride Sports person and luckily someone has transcribed most of it, so I can refresh my memory from that but I’m unsure of what input FF had
NiceGerbil · 03/08/2021 01:04

Still not there

NiceGerbil · 03/08/2021 01:02

10am news BBC 2 was the only item not available for the day when I checked a little earlier.

EyesOpening · 02/08/2021 23:57

@PamDenick

I think Nicola from FPFW was on the 10am one, along with Natalie from Pride Sport... But I maybe wrong...
I know I watched it this morning then I tried to find the one with FF but the one that I thought it was on, wasn’t available. Maybe it was the 11am they were on then
CuntAmongstThePigeons · 02/08/2021 23:47

No I think it was the 10am that wasn't there.
