My dc are 13, it is absolutely against the law for an adult show them pornography.

Showing children pornography is part of the child sex abuse spectrum.

Your children can be placed on the at risk register if you do this to them.

I can't imagine any non abusing parent being ok with this.

This shouldn't be accepted and isn't part of a healthy debate culture.
It is sexually abusive behavior that no adult and certainly no child should have to accept.

Every single time someone makes an asinine comment about her within my hearing, I am going to bring up the pipe bomb threats. The sexual assault comments are not always appropriate, but the illustrative power of telling people how kind you are while threatening to bomb someone who disagrees with you should sort the shit out good and proper.

By ‘run a promotion’, it sounds like you think she was advertising her book to increase sales.

She wasn’t. She released it online free, in instalments, to entertain children.

She opened a competition to illustrate it (which is why parents were sharing children’s artwork on Twitter), and included some of the children’s drawings in the final published editions.

She is donating the royalties from the published book to charity.

She is an all round good egg (not the finest writer in the world, occasional crass moments, but overall a great storyteller) and does fantastic stuff for children.

Seems a better use of Twitter (and of life) than carping at people online.
