Do "GC"s never, ever wonder whether they might be the baddies? Or even uncomfortably close to them?

You've never seen evidence of abuse from TRA's to feminists?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 14/07/2021 15:11

I never see evidence.

Thelnebriati · 14/07/2021 14:48

TRA's usually write off abuse from their side using the 'no true Scotsman' defense. But at least it's in response to actual evidence of abuse.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 14/07/2021 14:42

Disagreement is not abuse.

Etorih · 14/07/2021 14:27

I believe that @PumpkinSpiceWoman generally has a “one post per thread” policy, so probably won’t be back to discuss further.

How strange. Why would they do that. Surely the point of starting a thread is to engage in debate and discussion. I see you're right though. The op can't really be described as an engaged debater. More of a regular plop and retreat. Hmm. Doesn't really sound in the spirit of Mumsnet to me.

Aye. Right.

Come back pumpkin there might be Weetabix cake on offer soon.

CardinalLolzy · 14/07/2021 13:47

OP is the person who kept insisting that an obviously sarcastic joke about someone (Helen Staniland?) "being funded by the far right" (complete with laughter after saying it) was a genuine admission that they were, in fact, funded by the far right.

As such, I am reluctant to believe much that OP claims.

Here you go, OP, have today's Literal Violets award

Did someone at Birthrights see a ribbon perhaps?

No. Safeguarding women and children is not bad. Only the people who seek to destroy the rights and safeguards of women and children are bad. Hope this helps.

yourhairiswinterfire · 14/07/2021 13:34

Funny, I can't find any evidence of this ''abuse''.

Unless 'abuse' has now been redefined too, to mean 'some women disagreed with me'.

Along with

Nazi= some women disagree with me.
Bigot= some women disagree with me.
Transphobe= some women disagree with me.
Literal violence= some women disagree with me, etc etc.

Can you provide any evidence of this abuse? Should be easy if there's enough of it that you've been moved to start a thread about it...

TheRebelle · 14/07/2021 13:32

It’s like Stonewall sent out a playbook:

Step 1. Reduce women to their bodily functions and wait for the inevitable outrage
Step 2. Claim you are just being “inclusive” and anyone who disagrees with you is “not inclusive” even if your service is exclusively for females
Step 3. Post on social media saying you’re taking some time off because of unspecified “threats”
Step 4: Return to Stonewall HQ for your cookies

Sophoclesthefox · 14/07/2021 13:30

I don’t think about being “the baddie” much at all, as like most people I gave up categorising people into one dimensional Goodies and Baddies around the time I left school.

But I suppose not everyone enjoys nuance and really trying to understand things.

herewegogc · 14/07/2021 13:26

I see the usual suspects are trying very hard to make us the baddies. Not going to work when we are seeing who the real baddies are in plain sight. As is the general public.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/07/2021 13:21

Presumably Birthrights will go to the police and then update us as the women’s rights activists involved are apprehended.

Quite.

AnyOldPrion · 14/07/2021 13:18

Add me to the list of people who would be very interested to see some evidence of these violent threats in addition to some evidence they were in some way caused by, or even related to women fighting for women’s rights.

Presumably Birthrights will go to the police and then update us as the women’s rights activists involved are apprehended.

Here's a longer thread

No. Why would we be the baddies here? Birthrights is being criticised for their shabby treatment of Milli Hill, and the lie they made about her in their statement.

Flippin · 14/07/2021 13:04

Did anyone see any evidence of abuse yet? Threats to rape maybe? Or beatings? “Die in grease fire” or somesuch? Does it come from GC feminists?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 14/07/2021 12:58

@PumpkinSpiceWoman

Do "GC"s never, ever wonder whether they might be the baddies? Or even uncomfortably close to them?
Nope. Because we're not. And I saw that story yesterday & tried to find what they were referring to & couldn't. If you know where the evidence is, I'd be interested to see it.

No , hope that helps ! 💚🤍💜
bellinisurge · 14/07/2021 11:33

Disagreement is not abuse. If you can't counter the argument, you haven't been abused, you've been shown up.

Disagreement is now literal violence
Ribbons are literal violence
Posters stating biological fact are literal violence

But waving your dick around in front of kids is fiiiiiiiine.
