So stupid to pretend otherwise! At some point, why even ascribe a gender in the article, if it could be a blatant lie. Just put the person's name, call every "person", and stop using gendered pronouns once and for all. Hmm

Do men even realise how revolting they are making themselves by allowing this affront. Its bad enough that some of them behave like this, but then for the majority to leap around claiming its a woman's crime tarnishes every single one of them.

He is both. I was being tongue in cheek. The rule is you can’t assume someone’s gender and as he wasnt referred to as a transwoman then you’re assuming it for him.

Well he cannot be an actual woman, because that is impossible.

In reality, it’s both. They are a man and a transwoman. You can’t be a transwoman without being a man. But I was being tongue in cheek with my “you can’t assume their gender” comment.

It's shocking to think this crime will be recorded as having been perpetrated by a woman. We are seeing more and more of such cases though and ultimately, hopefully, I think cases like this will shine a light on the situation and get the message across. About how in certain circumstances, biological sex matters.

So some publications are not using the word ‘woman’ in articles about birth and women's health, and instead refer to ‘people’ or parts of anatomy, but are use ‘woman’ to describe a biologically male perpetrator of sex crime!

The article doesn’t mention that they are a transwoman so I’m not sure you can assume that gender ID for them.

Biological man and irrelevant what gender he identifies with. Arguably I would suggest half human half monster hybrid. There are seemingly difficult to track new confusing mutating genders already.

@OnSecondThoughts - Agreed, interestingly, the Toronto Star didn't go there. Makes you wonder what the reporter was thinking when she wrote the article. It looks deliberate, other reports all use the pronoun she and most call this person a woman.
