I can't see this was posted already, apologies if it's a duplicate.

Part 2: talking to the manager.
Our hero holds the line, the manager can only say that they cannot discriminate on the basis of gender identity.

I hope this brings lots if sunlight

It really is the Emperor's New Clothes played out in real life isn't it? Happening in so many places. What a great woman - her outrage and determination that young girls should not be exposed this creep .

NonnyMouse1337 · 28/06/2021 19:15

Once women realise what "trans" really means i.e. zero surgery and no way to challenge any male in your space, they are no longer happy to turn a blind eye. I hope more women and men start organising political and public opposition to laws on gender identity. It can't be nice to realise you've been hoodwinked into losing your rights. ☹️

The poor manager. She knows it's wrong but can't do anything

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 28/06/2021 19:06

I think there are not only difficulties in understanding US law but specific state provisions.

FWIW, there are Californians on Twitter saying that the bathroom laws do not cover changing areas or specifically female spaces like this when there is a choice - bathroom laws include that they can only be mixed when there are privacy stalls.

From what the young woman in this video is saying about the transgressor with legs akimbo, that instance is not covered.

However, that's Twitter, and there must be some nuance in play - presumably around the legality of asking someone to validate their status irrespective of provisions.

I am so angry that low wage, minimum protection women like the manager are being put up front to defend this. Legislators everywhere have put women in these invidious positions and have done it knowingly, hoping soft words turn away wrath even when that wrath is righteous.

Thanks for linking the extended version, how have we got to a point where its acceptable for someone with a penis to think it's fine to expose themselves to women and children and the women who complain are the ones in the wrong.

Manteiga · 28/06/2021 19:03

@ArabellaScott: I don't, but I imagine it varies by state. Wonder if the same thing has happened here.

DeRigueurMortis · 28/06/2021 19:01

She is absolutely incredible.

Fearless.

Thanks

Yes, it seems to me like this is the Equality Act's GI protection in action.

Agree, I feel really bad for the staff. Working in retail and hospitality is bloody hard and usually low paid. That poor woman is just right between a rock and a hard place.

Oh she is magnificent!

I really felt for the other woman too who was clearly upset that this man and his penis was getting into the jacuzzi with little girls.

ArabellaScott · 28/06/2021 18:50

I don't know anything enough about US law - the manager might be completely correct, does anyone know?
