I think this will cause all decent Trans people shame rather than pride.

Ah. So the sign that said 'Kill JK Rowling' was made and carried by a prisoner who was in for 30 years for attempted murder.

How completely astonishing. That's definitely the most surprising thing I've heard today.

EsmaCannonball · 28/06/2021 22:00

It's amazing how many of these people are violent or sexual offenders. So many wolves in sheep's clothing. Would making threats to kill a specific person be enough to get this person recalled to prison? I know people on Twitter have tagged in the police and probation service on this discussion.

NiceGerbil · 28/06/2021 21:45

Only if someone reports it though...

Erikrie · 28/06/2021 20:56

Hoping the police are already aware.

Yes I hope so too

That is very interesting.

@InspiralCoalescenceRingdown

Imagine what would happen if Mermaids did this? If they came out and said we abhor these attacks on JK Rowling and we are using our prominent position to ask that they stop.

Wasn't a Mermaids employee found at a previous march with a sign calling for violence (in general, I think, not specifically JKR)?

It's hard to keep track what with all the death threats, incitement to violence and actual violence.

I feel obliged to make a correction to my earlier post: It was a jacket (and a tweet), not a sign.

Thanks for bumping this, I've got a question awaiting an answer.
The question is whats behind the words adult human female?

If quaggers? Wants to answer yet?

They seem nice. Also interesting use of pronouns from 2013.

The 43-year-old is serving an indeterminate sentence for trying to kill an alleged child rapist behind bars in 1998. At the time, he was locked up for kidnapping and torturing his step-mother’s brother.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/06/2021 19:48

I mean - 30 years in jail is quite some achievement.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/06/2021 19:47

Oh gosh yes. Some of the good people from both sides eh?

They would never do this.

Not necessarily because they condone death threats towards JKR, but because they know that if they did speak out against them they would get a truckload of shit flung at them and this would make trans ideology look even worse than it already does.

@toffeebutterpopcorn

You missed the comments about ‘bimbo pills/tablets’ (or ‘t*y skittles’ Hmm) and the comments about becoming feeble/scatty as a result of taking them (and feet shrinking Confused). Yup, women obviously treated as a desirable thing to be.
Envy GROSS language.

But no we're not allowed to talk about who it is that likes to use this language are we MNHQ? Hmm

Erikrie · 27/06/2021 18:13

Yeah they kinda do. Try the attached video for some education from the trans viewpoint:

No thanks. I've seen that narcissistic self absorbed video before. I'll never get that time back. I'm certainly not doing it again. Try posting something of actual educational value next time. As the only educational value that video holds is to prove just how much of a man's rights movement trans ideology is. Hope this helps. ☺️

NiceGerbil · 27/06/2021 17:43

Yes there's an awful lot to choose from.

NiceGerbil · 27/06/2021 16:58

In the end I conclude that the fact that female humans are full people with different opinions, experiences, preferences, ambitions, modes of dress, experiences etc is essentially transphobic

When a more precise definition of the word woman is requested than 'anyone who says they are one', there are many different answers.

Ones I've seen (not going to look them all up but Google will help if anyone wants the original quotes).

Women are formless

The ones who take the passive role in sex

Blank eyes and an expectant arsehole

I'm sure there are plenty more but there's a few to start with.

The point is that the word can have no explicit definition as different individuals want to define it however they see fit.

Therefore of course the fact that women in real life reject definitions like these (say no) and insist that we need words to describe the female half of the human race. And woman = adult human female is therefore a word already taken and not to be reimagined as whatever it means to the speaker. Is of course transphobic.

And I suppose this is where the idea of denying existence comes from too.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 27/06/2021 16:27

There must have been some sort of international campaign for Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31st, because those stickers popped up on that day in cities all across the world.

Tibtom · 27/06/2021 16:17

@PurgatoryOfPotholes

On the subject of stickers...
I think those stickers should be publicised more...

Mishy you're giving a thumbs up to people saying talk to us we can help get you drugs online.

Don't bother with doctors they're not the to help.

?

And given that there will be younger teens there without parents?

NiceGerbil · 27/06/2021 15:57

@ScreamingMeMe

It's so gaslighty to tell women there must be more to what they're saying than what they're actually saying.
Misogyny. As well.

A very familiar idea that women's thoughts and speech are somehow, however clear, mysterious or partial or with a different meaning.

Bordois · 27/06/2021 15:52

@Quaggars

Stickers too don't forget!

See, I get accused of being "disegenous" on here.
This totally is though.
"What's so wrong about a female, sticking a sticker saying they're female?
It's the whole what can be behind it that people stick their fingers in their ears and go la la la to that's Hmm

Sorry, what?

I genuinely don't understand what it is you're actually saying here.
