I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

Sorry, should have said @SelfPortraitWithEels! Think cat is a keeper

SpringCrocus · 06/08/2021 22:04

Molly, if he's not keen on Neilhimself, he's probably a good un

SpringCrocus · 06/08/2021 22:03

Oh, it's very vey potent. Sorry, should have warned you wimms, in advance!

SelfPortraitWithEels · 06/08/2021 21:36

Good point, Molly, he might not have the same rapport with all rodents. And he does look a little... untrustworthy. (It occurred to me that maybe your paths might have crossed, Errol?)

That's good news, Spring. Might just try some of that vodka while I'm here.

...Oh yesh. Thatsh not at all bad. [Settles down, replaces dainty shot glass with tankard.]

SpringCrocus · 06/08/2021 21:25

And Neilhimself can just fuck off. I loved him, so much, but no more
Wonder what David Tennant and Owen Sheer think of him now?

SpringCrocus · 06/08/2021 21:24

Sadly, not just horses but other large livestock need accomodation, and I don't think they'll like sharing with camels or other goats.

Getting quietly pissed on wine in the comfy corner, after a stressful day. Lots of rl progress made, and lots of stuff decluttered. Loots of important telephone conversations made, and important emails exchanged.

Feel much more positive!

Cheese and marmite straws, hot from the oven, anyone?

And damson vodka vintage 2019. It's fab!

mollythemeerkat · 06/08/2021 21:11

Self Portrait - I think you should probably grill him about his vole qualifications.

SelfPortraitWithEels · 06/08/2021 21:08

Hmmm. A large cat has just put his head round the door and offered to train the voles. He says that he has experience with a very similar cohort and he can make us enormous amounts of money. We will also need to rent a human piper, but it just so happens he knows one who can help us out. He says his name is the Amazing Maurice. What do you think? Should we invite him in?

He also said something under his breath about Neil Gaiman, but I'm not sure I followed that bit. Wink

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 06/08/2021 21:02

I haven't seen them but if the naughty horses from the Tokyo Olympics women's pentathlon need a home are we taking them in? They seem temperamentally suited, tbh.

Am settling my brains on the shelf by accompanying my very large gin with Aliens.

Confusedeach to their own Grin

I stated on the gin about 20 minutes ago.

The goat is securely tethered. I think. Hope.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 06/08/2021 18:00

I like ribbons in the fairies and trolls trail.

It 2 minutes to gin.

It's been a shit-show of a week (including being bollocked on a another thread for making an eminently sensible suggestion - though that was the least of the shit-show).

Gin time! Make mine a triple.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 06/08/2021 17:49

A room full of women (and wine) on a Friday evening. Am just sitting down with the latest edition of the Times and there's a cracking new piece from Lionel Shriver to enjoy with a glass of Wine
Cheers everyone.

mollythemeerkat · 06/08/2021 17:34

Highame - send me your voles and I will train them to do something useful around the house. I`m sure voles can be trained with a little persuasion or perhaps some cocktail snacks as a reward. Spring - I am glad you are feeling a bit more positive.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/08/2021 16:30

We already have goats, so ablutions harassed creature can hide among them.

On Wednesday we took our old dog to some nice gardens which has recently started allowing dogs in. He absolutely loved it, walked (and trotted and ran) on the grassy paths. They had a woody corner set up as a 'fairies and trolls trail'; on one which was festooned with ribbons there was a long purple, white and green trio.

Not so keen on the spitting aspect, though! I'll be sitting well away from the stage!

Turned · 06/08/2021 16:08

Hello ablutions, hope the project quarterbacking is going well. Whatever it is.

I am wondering if we might have space in Camilla's field for Spring's horses.

I'll be at the corner table with a stack of books and a big mug of tea. Though it could be time for a beer. Still waiting on replies from the local Labour and Lib Dem PCC candidates. It's been 9 days since I emailed them with my questions.

highame · 06/08/2021 15:52

They can also tap dance, so we're good for a cabaret when required

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 06/08/2021 13:31

@SpringCrocus

Can camels even knit? What with lacking opposable thumbs (or indeed, fingers)
The Bluestocking is a liminal place of many possibilities.

ablutiions · 06/08/2021 10:26

@GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman I think the goat deffo needs a sanctuary of some kind, fenced preferably, to stop me coming and getting it all the time.

I just realised that it was 6am when I posted about wanting a Martini. Too early ?

highame · 06/08/2021 10:11

The f*&king voles are still here. I thought they'd gone, I still have my fingers crossed because there isn't so much mess around but think I'm being over optimistic.

I have brought Camilla some knitting wool and needles so she can knit some Suffragette ribbons because the lovely Tom is likely to have started a craze and we shouldn't miss out.

You sound more cheerful Spring that's good news.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 06/08/2021 10:01

@SpringCrocus, just saw your update. Fingers crossed for the livestock.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 06/08/2021 10:00

I'm not the doorkeeper, anyone can wander in, so you are very welcome.

I know it's early, but my life is a stress-blitz at the moment, so I might be joining you with the gin at 12 sharp.

Would the goat like to share the paddock with Camilla the Camel? She arrived squashed in a pocket with the Marlboro, but has come on nicely since.

ablutiions · 06/08/2021 06:24

@GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman I was lurking nervously until I saw the virtual red Marlboro. I'm in, if I may.

Not too much nonsense in my work sphere this week. Other than a big hairy bloke using signature pronouns to announce that he is in fact, a man. Ridiculous, And another male colleague kindly explaining to a customer that 'Ablutions will be quarterbacking this project '. What does that even mean? Not strictly a Bluestocking thing but it got my goat (poor goat has been got a lot recently and is feeling somewhat pestered).

Mine's a gin Martini, shaken, with olive. Thanks. Oh, and hello everyone Grin
