I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

My first time here as well!

I would like a cold rose wine please. I am still…hmm… I don’t know what when thinking of certain very revealing pictures of our New Zealand Weightlifter. I wonder if there will be a transgender lobby group to allow women to not wear clothing that is tight in the groin area?

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 19:50

Blimey. You lot are needy!

SelfPortraitWithEels · 25/06/2021 19:47

My first time in the Bluestocking too! and it has nothing to do with walking past and seeing Embarrassing's tapas last time [Waylays tray, snaffles everything.]

Sam and Just, me too. (I'm afraid we appear to be on first-syllable terms already. Pleashe blame this exsheptional cocktail.) I saw the new-fangled Pride flag at my daughter's nursery and flinched inside, and was very glad they don't actually teach them anything yet... (And I also resent feeling the need to add, even in this company, that for the record I am very happy with GNC behaviour of all kinds. Angry) Fingers crossed we will have something more anodyne to deal with.

I have loads of salt, Weevils (8th wedding anniversary last week) - have as much as you want. Or a tissue?

CriticalCondition · 25/06/2021 19:39

Hello, my first time in the Bluestocking. I 've looked through the window a few times but never ventured in. A lurker more than a poster but feel the urge to join some fellow vipers to celebrate lots of lovely sunlight in the last week or two.
I'll have a G&T with some cucumber please. And a few salted cashews if there are any.
Cheers!

Goodness, turn my back to do a bit of work and the place fills up.
12° here so I'm supping hot tea and looking for a sofa to cosy up on... or perch on SirSamuelVimes, perhaps, who obviously I'm very pleased to see in hereGrin.

If the other place wants a pub, they can open their own. Or maybe a naice wine bar? (Are wine bars still a thing? )

Thanks, tea. Common sense prevails.

[raises glass] To Maya.

@WarOnWoman

The Law Society is now recommending people follow the law

I missed that news. Someone told the Law Society about the actual law?

Believe it or not, yes: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4280253-Law-Society-Revises-Policy-on-Single-Sex-Spaces

KB case looking interesting ... Sonia A case looking very illuminating.

I doubt that GIDS will survive the Cass inquiry. But those vulnerable children won't get their fertility, sexual function and body parts back.

theThreeofWeevils · 25/06/2021 19:15

My dad's elderflower champagne was The Dog's, no question.
Pint of margarita, please. If there's no salt, I can just sit and cry into it. One of those sorts of days. But at least no-one has mansplained to me something wot I wrote.
Cheersh, Vipersh Wine

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 19:06

Chicharrones?

Bless you.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 25/06/2021 19:04

I suppose pork scratchings are out of the question?

Chicharrones? I've got those - we tend to have them with soup.

And I have some gazpacho.

WarOnWoman · 25/06/2021 19:03

Arabella I set fire to my own hair (accidentally). The smell was awful.

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 19:00

This is an incredibly posh pub, I have to say. I suppose pork scratchings are out of the question? Where's the dartboard? As it's virtual, can I smoke? [sets fire to own hair]

lazylinguist · 25/06/2021 18:55

Dh has been making elderflower champagne today! I think it's a lot stronger than 0.5 though. And won't be ready for a year.

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:51

Yes, lots of sunshine in murky corners this week

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:50

Home made Elderflower champagne? It's only a tiny bit alcoholic, about 0.5%?

teawamutu · 25/06/2021 18:50

Gin please. All the gin.

So, this week:
KB case not looking great
Olympics are getting the issue out there
Jess de Wahls has ovaries of steel
As does Joanna Cherry

What'd I miss?

WarOnWoman · 25/06/2021 18:41

Hello.

I've had a wonderful afternoon ever chatting with a friend about anything and everything. The best kind of conversation.

I don't drink so a non- alcoholic beverage for me please.

TurquoiseBaubles · 25/06/2021 18:39

Isn't this in the wrong topic?

SpringCrocus · 25/06/2021 18:35

Here you go!

lazylinguist · 25/06/2021 18:35

Most kind, Arabella. Easy on the water.

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 18:32

I can make you the best toddy, lazy - whisky, lemon, honey, and lots of cardamom/cloves/cinnamon/ginger slices, with hot water.

ArabellaScott · 25/06/2021 18:30

@JustcameoutGC

My current tipple of choice is a bison grass vodka, with fever tree tonic. It is lush.
Ooh, Bisongrass with apple juice. Yum.

Lovely to see some new faces among the vipers! Smile
