I've nicked a title, opened the door, dusted off the bar.

Come in and drown your sorrows, celebrate or just hang out in good company.

I’ll have whatever fizz you have going, popular or not. We have had a lot of rubbish but just got some good news on DHs business. Cheers everyone!

theThreeofWeevils · 30/06/2021 21:05

most of us here need something rather stronger than fizzy white wine

Soixante-quinzes all round, then. A bloody marvellous drink, and a pretty useful piece of artillery.

Waitwhat, I'm sure I saw a stack of padded helmets in the suffragette colours somewhere... [Opens cupboards.] Ah yes, here they are, take one with you when you leave. Apparently several have been signed out already...

Last meeting of the day. Anyone around for a convivial supper? Really simple cold cuts and some roasted vegetables plus a coleslaw with pecans.

ArabellaScott · 30/06/2021 20:39

Throw it all in the bucket, add enough Angostura and nobody really knows what's in there anyway.

Waitwhat23 · 30/06/2021 20:38

Taking a break from banging my head against a brick wall.

Prosecco is terribly, terribly passe, don't you know! Wink it's all about the Cremant now.

Tbf, I think most of us here need something rather stronger than fizzy white wine!

ErrolTheDragon · 30/06/2021 19:11

Just popping in for some decaf tea while making dinner, and noting that of all the many beverages requested here, one which seems remarkably unpopular is Prosecco.

Popping in for a swift Ploughman's. This meeting is over-running and my brain is full.

I need a break and to do some non-online work before my next online at 17:00. I feel that I live in a panopticon.

It's lovely to have this refuge.

BlackeyedSusan · 30/06/2021 13:03

oh dearjust came out...

JustcameoutGC · 30/06/2021 12:35

Got my first deletion with added scold. Make mine a double! I'm starting early.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 30/06/2021 10:27

I've 35mins before my next online thingy - something restorative is needed.

I know nothing about the care of camels but I'm not over-confident about what's been going on no matter how happy the camel looks now.

Reading the Badley village thread linked up there (gestures airily) - what a nostalgic trip. So many names gone

Yes.

Bowednotbroken · 30/06/2021 10:21

Popping back in after a long absence - much needed gin after my youngest son (27) told me off for using 'he' for LH. He acknowledged the unfairness but still thought I was Being Unreasonable for using the male pronoun. The cognitive dissonance didn't bother him at all Hmm.

Anyway. Cheers!

SelfPortraitWithEels · 30/06/2021 09:54

I'm going to sit in the library corner and work. I'm relying on you all to take my phone away every time I'm tempted to go on Twitter.

SelfPortraitWithEels · 30/06/2021 09:53

On the other hand, Batman , maybe a good sulphurous blast would wake you up...? Like bathing in volcanic springs.

Olderbadger1 · 30/06/2021 09:01

I wouldn't recommend it Batman - someone's been giving him/her/they pork scratchings and rather too many pickled eggs. Say no more.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 30/06/2021 08:39

@ArabellaScott

OJ for breakfast - continental today, then, is it?
I've refilled the continental pastries and the bread for toasting (yesterday's sour cream loaves).

I'm refilling on coffee and a quiet sit in the garden before my next meeting.

BatmansBat · 30/06/2021 08:21

I am feeling really tired and unsociable. Hopefully a coffee will fix that.

Could I take my coffee and sit with the camel until I have woken up properly?

ArabellaScott · 30/06/2021 08:19

lazylinguist · 30/06/2021 08:06

John Finnemore is revered in our house so that is even better news! I must admit to having lost respect for Neil Gaiman in recent times.

Same here on all counts.

No breakfast for LOJ. Shame about the weather - I have glorious sunshine irl. Since we're virtual, perhaps I could bring it? I definitely fancy breakfast in the pub garden.

Turned · 30/06/2021 07:59

I’ve made coffee and tea, and there’s some of Embarrassing’s excellent sour cream loaf ready to go under the grill. Just going to check on the camel and bring some strawberries up from the garden, if there are any left after all the Pimms last night.

highame · 30/06/2021 07:58

It's a crap weather day, so have let in the ranty farters. Found LOJ in amongst so have left him with the camel who smells even worse (damp camel fur is awful). Should I offer him breakfast (the camel, not LOJ)

DaisiesandButtercups · 30/06/2021 07:45

Ooh that is exciting lazylinguist I am pleased about a second series of Good Omens and this is news to me. The whole family enjoyed watching the first series together.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 30/06/2021 07:44

Who the hell brought the camel in the first place
I think it was Arabella. In her pocket with a crumpled Marlboro.

lazylinguist · 30/06/2021 07:37

Any Bluestocking fans of Pratchett might be pleased to know that a second series of Good Omens has been announced, with the brilliant John Finnemore on the writing team!

BlackeyedSusan · 30/06/2021 03:07

debating whetehr to have gin or cocoa... as I am likely to be getting a visit from the police at some point as a witness to arson probably better be the cocoa...
