At about 1pm on Sunday 27th June Kellie Jay Keen ("Posie Parker") is going to stand outside the New Zealand embassy with a stepladder, a loudhailer and a banner to protest that Laurel Hubbard has denied a deserving sportswoman a place in the Olympics. And will probably steal a woman's medal.

It would be great if people who care about women's sports could go along to support her.

I wish I could be there!

Tibtom · 22/06/2021 20:54

Is that us being told again that we shouldn't campaign for women's rights until we have sorted everything else out first?

Sadsiblingatsea · 22/06/2021 20:44

I’ll aim to be there

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 22/06/2021 20:40

Good for Posie
Laurel Hubbard shouldn't be allowed to compete with women.

marmitecravings · 22/06/2021 20:17

oh! this is absolutely ridiculous!

somethinginoffensive · 22/06/2021 20:15

Definitely looking forward to meeting some of you. Is there a way of recognising mumsnetters or will I just have to ask everyone?

AfternoonToffee · 22/06/2021 20:09

@NecessaryScene

The march in on saturday (People's Assembly) and Posie's event is sunday.

Is it too late for Orf1abc to change their Sunday ticket to Saturday for the march?

Will have to go see Posie after all.

Good for Posie. Too far away for me sadly.

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 22/06/2021 18:39

Anyway, sounds like the ideal way to spend my Sunday afternoon!

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 22/06/2021 18:39

@stumbledin

Oh dear is this just a derail or a genuine mistake.

Oh dear indeed

😂 😂

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 22/06/2021 18:38

And yet despite being desperate to avoid all us nasty GC feminists, the other lot still want to come over to read the threads they were apparently so sick of before.

Extraordinary, isn’t it!

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 22/06/2021 18:37

@Orf1abc

Won't all the feminists be at the anti austerity march? Austerity has had a vastly disproportionate impact on women, as have government policies around the pandemic.

'Posie' needs to reevaluate her priorities.

Posie can do whatever the fuck she wants (within the same legal constraints as everybody else, obvs).

And I’m 100% sure that doesn’t include taking life advice from you.

But how do we know it has more of an impact on women, when we can’t even say what a woman is ?
CuntAmongstThePigeons · 22/06/2021 18:10

I'll be there. It normally kicks off at 12.

Good on Posie. I'd go if it were possible.

Yes quite. Why aren't they over on Feminist Chat posting lots of trans positive intersectional feminism, instead of engaging in a "debate" page, when, by their own philosophy, there should be "no debate".
Sonarl · 22/06/2021 17:43

Good for her, I'll see if I can make it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/06/2021 17:38

Do they have consulates elsewhere?

There's one in Edinburgh also.

Thanks @Maskless!

AfternoonToffee · 22/06/2021 17:03

It's almost as if people can't be passionate about two issues at the same time. I can't be there (on account of being far from London) but hopefully all will go well.
