This is actually the Women's Rights section, look!

So, they've renamed us Sex and Gender Debate (FFS).

But look, the URL of this section is www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights

So, we're basically the same section that was Feminism Chat before, (And FWR before that? Can anyone remember?)

And, this section is actually Women's Rights. Has been all along, no matter how many times they rename it.

It really should be called Women's Sex-Based Rights now, though, don't you think? Sex and gender debate is a shit name.

Women's Rights is fine as it is. No need to add "sex based" .

I'm actually embarrassed on MNs behalf. Proper cringe today.

Well it appears as though we are welcome to have a chat about feminism or discuss the sex and gender debate but nothing else has a place here on MN. I’m assuming MNHQ would like us to go elsewhere for that.

So how do I know whether the issue I want to discuss (hypothetically) belongs on this side or the other side? And will a lot of them be spent moving things from one to the other?

No we can’t discuss women’s rights here because this is the sex and gender debate board. And there is no board called feminism. There is feminism chat but women’s rights is a bit more serious than a chat. IMO.

Either here or under 'Feminism'. It's not that difficult to understand - there are only two boards now.

I don't know what the URL was before but the overall section was called "Feminism" and now has reverted to "Feminism & Women's Rights". Which should please the posters who continued to refer to it as FWR long after it changed to just "Feminism".

Don’t know, but it a a right PITA having to switch between the two. You have to go all the way back to talk and then to the separate sections Hmm Confused

Someone suggested Feminism: Sex Based Rights and Protections as a forum name - I prefer that.

I mean, I don't think they should have split it at all, but as they have, they should at least use a name the members of the board will like.

How often do other boards have names forced on them they don't like?

The new boards I've noticed being set up have always had names that were liked by the people who wanted the board.

Having this name foisted on us is a shitty manoeuvre by MNHQ IMO.
