"Nurses speak of their distress at being instructed to insist to their female patients that there are no men present, in the clear presence of a man identifying as a woman. Who can they turn to when their employer, union and regulator are all Stonewall Champions?"

How can someone with a social media history like 'Gemma Stone' get published?
Its amazing? do they know they has a history of publicly threatning criminal nucience to women? (a protected charactistic?)
Someone needs to make them aware, surely?

timeisnotaline · 16/11/2021 04:40

That tweet by the editor was deleted. Shame.

Yes I was just reading that - Susie Green bigging up Mermaids and complaining about GPs and CAMHS. They can't have it both ways - claim gender dysphoria is not a mental health issue, then complain about this:
"Many young people with gender dysphoria referred to CAMHS teams by their GPs are sent right back. “This is gender dysphoria, we don’t do gender dysphoria,” is often the message, says the Mermaids chief.
This is strictly accurate - gender dysphoria is no longer classed as a mental health condition, but Ms Green says this is too often a convenient excuse for struggling CAMHS services to offload anxious, depressed and, sometimes, suicidal children."

Mental health services are so overstretched they will do anything to divert people away from their services. As an example, if a child (or adult) has autism and related mental health issues, they might say "this is autism, we don't do autism", and similarly "offload anxious, depressed and, sometimes, suicidal children."
So from a TRA point of view, gender dysphoria is a bit like that. Not a mental health issue itself, but likely to be linked to mental health issues which need treatment. There is actually logic in it, even if we don't agree on whether gender dysphoria itself is a mental health issue.

just to add.. Kate Grimes wants NHS staff to contact her about their experiences of homophobia, silencing and the other issues caused by gender ideology in the NHS

FindTheTruth · 14/11/2021 11:39

Update: Kate Grimes is calling on NHS staff affected to please contact her

See her summary and call to action here at time stamp 50:58

Fab article. Well done the HSJ. I know many NHS staff are really struggling with some of the genderist diktats brought in under Stonewall law.

ChattyLion · 29/06/2021 22:16

Just coming back to say what a bloody great article this is! Glad the response has been huge. It’s a massive issue and that article is an uncomfortable statement of truth.

[quote ItsAllGoingToBeFine]THIS ... article on Trans rights and the NHS has become the most commented on in HSJ's 20 year plus digital history - and also the one for which I have received most unsolicited messages of thanks

The Twitter replies to this tweet earlier on were overwhelmingly critical, which was unexpected, as sentiment there seems to have become more balanced lately. There was also a number of mentions of the HSJ being "love bombed" by "well organised GC people". Is that what we're doing now? I'll do no love bombing until my extreme right wing Christian funding arrives thank you very much.

I see Tish has threaded some corrections to the Gemma Stone response:

[quote RoyalCorgi]It seems likely that the HSJ didn't find anyone who worked for the NHS to defend the relationship with Stonewall. That is in itself interesting.

The response piece displays the usual level of tantrumming and name-calling that we have come to expect from TRAs.

Glinner recently published an excellent piece that shows exactly what kind of person Cursed E is:

Yes, the editor said that he only received one offer to respond - from Gemma. Interesting that neither anyone in the NHS nor anyone from Stonewall was prepared to do so. I suspect that SW would have been put off by the comments section being only lightly moderated. Shockingly, HSJ readers are allowed to be GC - and it looks as if most of them are 💪

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2021 23:36

Referring to Kate “her claims that Stonewall is arguing for the removal of single sex spaces. Which they aren’t.”

But Stonewall’s parliamentary submissions and current website say they are?

There you go expecting truth.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 15/06/2021 22:21

@Ereshkigalangcleg

who was the activist who disrupted a meeting with Heather Brunskell-Evans et al at Bristol. A note about how CursedE later regretted the tactics:

This is a different TRA.

Fair enough - I think I conflated HBE and Rosa Freedman.

The Gemma Stone article doesn’t make much sense, just a call to emotion. Referring to Kate “her claims that Stonewall is arguing for the removal of single sex spaces. Which they aren’t.”

I think it was Prof Rosa Freedman who was quite pally with Cursed E for a while. I don't know if she still is.

Ah, thank you. I knew somebody was - wrong academic with strong human rights record!

RoyalCorgi · 15/06/2021 13:37

HBE has since gone on to develop a friendship with CursedE, if I have this right - and I wonder if this has leant an imprimatur of respectability to the writing of Gemma Stone (alongside the Independent gig).

iirc, Gemma Stone is CursedE - who was the activist who disrupted a meeting with Heather Brunskell-Evans et al at Bristol. A note about how CursedE later regretted the tactics:

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 15/06/2021 12:31

Bejasus. Can anyone post those CursedE screenshots in reply to their article on HSJ?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 15/06/2021 12:16

In a similar vein, I have had a response from Network Rail about their own membership; and their letter has made my blood boil.

In my original letter, I included plenty of evidence and footnotes about SW's conduct; and also told them how many other companies have already left, etc.
But the response I received has really pissed me off.

In the response, that I've just sent, I mentioned Allison Bailey's case and how SW have basically held a gun to the head of Garden Court Chambers, by threatening to withdraw GCC from the (worthless) championship twaddle.

Tactics that would make organised crime groups blush, cos it's like a fucking Ponzi scheme.

I genuinely need to calm down.

AngeloMysterioso · 15/06/2021 12:06

Would somebody be able to screen shot? All I see when I follow the link is a blank white screen.
