Wishing her the very best of luck. twitter.com/MForstater/status/1402310977115279362?s=20

I'll be absolutely gutted if the original decision isn't overturned, but at least her case has let a lot of sunlight in.

Just repeating what @TedImgoingmad said. Star

God knows where women would be today without Maya having fought her corner. There's a direct line from her bravery to JKR speaking out, and all the sunlight that has poured in since through the work of Sex Matters and the genius of the FOI campaign. We are all in your debt, Maya, you are a total legend, and a winner, whatever any court judgment says.

Fingers crossed. If she isn't successful, the government will have to make some changes because it is now commonly held that free speech is under attack

Also, the Equal Bench book was highlighted as a big issue in this case, so I would expect it to be withdrawn and amended if Maya wins and even if she doesn't, it's time for a re-write

Alltheprettyseahorses · 09/06/2021 08:12

Best of luck, Maya. Either way, you've won. Look at what happened to Anne Sinnot - she 'lost' permission to bring a case but in the process the EHRC clarified Stonewall guidance was wrong and then the dominoes started to fall.

StillFemale · 09/06/2021 08:08

Thank-you Maya and Good luck

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 09/06/2021 08:02

Thank you Maya!!!! Fingers are crossed.

ChattyLion · 09/06/2021 07:58

Thank you Maya, whatever the result- your case has got people waking up to the dangerously sexist misogynistic burden being placed on women at their workplaces by this politics. I’m sure it’s been a horrendous stress for you personally to have to bring it. You’re a total shero. Thank you.

Whatever happens Maya has already won. Her bravery in speaking up has led to sunlight on these issues.

This. Sisterly love and solidarity, to Maya and all our heroic women.

ShagMeRiggins · 09/06/2021 00:18

Regardless of outcome.

ShagMeRiggins · 09/06/2021 00:18

God, if I were Maya and had received the ruling in advance I’d have left every electronic device I owned behind and gone to sit by the nearest beach with a cocktail in hand and a good book.

Best of British.

CriticalCondition · 09/06/2021 00:14

Whatsnewpussyhat · 08/06/2021 21:38

Yes, the last judgment at least gave us the quote re belief in sex being 'not worthy of respect

Yes it was ridiculous. How on earth is the belief of most of the fucking planet's human population, that there are only 2 sexes and that sex cannot be changed, not worthy of respect? And in a 'democratic society' females should've been consulted and been able to vote on if their entire sex class should be erased on the whims of a small number of males.

LazyHorizon · 08/06/2021 21:34

Crossing fingers for a good outcome. Flowers

UhtredRagnarson · 08/06/2021 21:28

yourhairiswinterfire · 08/06/2021 21:27

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

Was this not the case that was put off until next year so they could give it 2-3 weeks in court then?

I need a list off court cases /dates to keep track Blush

That's Allison Bailey v Stonewall & her Chambers :)

Good luck Maya, everything crossed for you!
