because all females need to be aware of this

And there's no need to have an attack of the vapours because it's a Daily Mail link. For all their multitude of shortcomings, the Mail at least have the guts to publish articles that stand up for women and girls.

Jumping up and down?
It literally takes 2 clicks.

You didn’t answer my question. Do you report all covid threads because they should be in the Coronavirus topic?

Quaggars · 06/06/2021 21:10
Moving this thread is like saying
‘Women, know your place’

Thanks mumsnet hq, or perhaps that should be birthingandadoptiveandstepparents.net??
Oh give over lol
It's just like other boards in that they move things to the relevant board.
It's still Mumsnet too, why should it be birthingandadoptiveandstepparents.net? Nobody's advocated for that as far as I know, everyone's still happy with it being called Mumsnet I presume.
I mean it started out being called that all those years ago, it's what everyone knows it as.

@Pumperthepumper The issue with recording male crimes as being committed by females - and then putting those males in women’s prisons - is a great example of why we are concerned.

No laws have been passed in Parliament to allow this to happen. In fact, the Equality Act allows single sex prisons, including the exclusion of transsexuals with a GRC.

However, the reality is that males are treated as females as Stonewall have advised that this needs to happen to ‘Be Kind’ and ‘Be Inclusive’. And anyone who objects is a bigot as TWAW in all circumstances.

This has all happened by stealth without any publicity or debate in Parliament. Anyone who raised concerns within an organisation was vilified as a bigot.

And then we find ourselves with rapists in women’s prisons because people in power felt that they had to ‘Be Kind’.

highame · 06/06/2021 21:07

Insisting, stating that people need to know what we talk about on FWR strikes me as being a little like all the things we're fighting against. Haven't RTFT, I value this board but there are others who may not, they are entitled to express their views

Potteringshed · 06/06/2021 20:59

What all employees????? Surely not, only one sex class of employee can or will get pregnant.

Policy includes adoption leave. Any sex can adopt. Agree this whole thread should be in FWR.

MNHQ have always been inconsistent in their moderation.

@Theeyeballsinthesky

Why the bloody hell has this been moved??
There was a thread here on FWR a while back asking why we're all so obsessed with these issues on this board.

This is a great way to prove what was said in reply; you try and talk about this anywhere else on MN and the thread just gets dumped here on the 'naughty step', so the conversations on this topic aren't spread evenly across the boards.

People post on AIBU all the time with no actual AIBU, openly say they're just posting there for traffic, and no one bats an eyelid. A feminist posts ''off topic'' and people complain until it gets moved.

The article is about mothers, on a site called Mumsnet, so not sure why it has to be here on FWR. It would fit in just as much on AIBU or Chat, imo 🤷‍♀️

Quaggars · 06/06/2021 20:53

That doesn’t stop covid threads being posted on AIBU every single fucking day.

No, but they do usually get moved though.
Just like this one has.

oioisaveloy108 · 06/06/2021 20:53

@AngeloMysterioso

I don’t want to read threads about covid, so I don’t go on the coronavirus board.

That doesn’t stop covid threads being posted on AIBU every single fucking day. Do you also jump up and down and insist they be relocated to their rightful place?

Jolie12345 · 06/06/2021 20:49

I suppose in that context I see your point but how about..

“Anyone seen Ben?”
“No, I haven’t heard from them in days.”

That’s plural. Or...

“Have you heard the news about Sally?”
“No, what have they been up to now?”

“What did they say?” - this one sounds like a split personality Hmm

Theeyeballsinthesky · 06/06/2021 20:48

Are people in AIBU unaware of the hide thread button that this needs to be moved then?

And yes agree, if this thread was ‘transphobic’ MN would delete it

Pumperthepumper · 06/06/2021 20:48

@RedthroatedCaracara

Did you ever say what her point was about Davina McCalls dress?

Still trying to derail Smile

Why are people thanking the lord and MN that this conversation has been moved Hmm What disturbs you about this debate? And don't scream "transphobia" because if this thread was transphobic it would have been deleted not moved.

Still trying to get out of owning up to your sexist comment Wink
Quaggars · 06/06/2021 20:48

What disturbs you about this debate?

Disturbs me? Nothing
Just saying can see why it's been moved.

highame · 06/06/2021 20:47

I invoke Bunbury's, anyone fancy a cake.

I think it's around 850 Erikrie and non of them small. Whitehall are to give a statement next week I believe, so anyone saying they've never heard of this, are sure hearing it now

Quaggars · 06/06/2021 20:46

I chose to start it in a topic that has high traffic to bring it to the attention of women who don't frequent the FWR board
Yes, and several people basically said oh FFS, and it clearly wasn't wanted there - they told you as much and clearly people thought Hmm enough to get it moved.
Some even said they hide this board for a reason.
So why be like "well, I'm going to show you it anyway?"
Not everyone wants to read all the boards, sometimes you just come to MN for light relief.

Iamhangingin · 06/06/2021 20:46

I don't think this is a feminist issue, it's integral to the experience of being a mother. We should all be able to use normal language to describe our experience. I gave birth to my children. It was a sex specific experience.

Oh good, it's been moved.
Why are people bothered that it's been moved?
It's only like when Coronavirus for example starts seeping out onto the boards - not everyone wants it, they'd go over to the Coronavirus forum if they did.
That's why there's specialised boards so that people who are interested will go to them.
Not piss off people just trying to read AIBU or Chat or whatever.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 06/06/2021 20:41

Why the bloody hell has this been moved??

Quaggars · 06/06/2021 20:39

@Jolie12345

Also this ridiculousness around pronouns. Referring to an individual as “they” doesn’t make sense... one person cannot be multiple people as suggested with words that are intended to define plurals. Just make a word up if you don’t like what existing words actually mean
I used to think this, think I've even posted on MN at some point in the past saying they confuses me as it's plural - but I've been thinking more about it, and is it really? I mean when we talk about someone and we don't know them personally, we use they. Eg if the Doctor's going to ring you, you don't know if it's going to be a male or female one so you say "they're going to ring in a bit." Same thing really
Ijustreallywantacat · 06/06/2021 20:38

Thanks mumsnet!

MarshaBradyo · 06/06/2021 20:33

*Do you move every thread in AIBU to its appropriate topic? Or just the ones related to feminist issues?

I agree. There’s no rule that everyone has to read this thread just because it’s in aibu. People can scroll past.

RedthroatedCaracara · 06/06/2021 20:31

@KimMumsnet

Evening, all. We're moving this thread across to the Feminism topic now. Thanks.
@KimMumsnet - why? It's been happily residing in AIBU all day. I chose to start it in a topic that has high traffic to bring it to the attention of women who don't frequent the FWR board. It's provoked an interesting discussion.

Why would anyone report it rather than just hide it?
