Sonia Appleby raising questions about the Tavi's child safeguarding

Not sure if we're allowed to discuss matters pertaining to child safeguarding on here anymore, after MNHQ deleted my other thread about it. I've asked for clarification.

Sonia Appleby is one of the whistleblowers who has raised very serious concerns around the processes at this NHS clinic which provides services to children. One of her allegations is that her colleagues were instructed not to bring safeguarding concerns to her, although she was in the post of safeguarding children lead for the trust.

Does anyone have any idea of when this case might be heard? Or any thoughts about it?

I daren't even put the link to the BBC News article in my OP for fear of it being misconstrued as a 'fundraising thread', but I know you can find more information about the case if you search 'Sonia Appleby Tavistock', should you want to. ThanksDaffodilThanks

I have also done some payday gardening for Sonia. She is so brave and principled.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 14/06/2021 20:59

No the mum asked for it to be taken down as local press were into it.

Cismyfatarse · 14/06/2021 20:43

@Masdintle I can't find the schoolgirl one. Troll? Or outing?

Masdintle · 14/06/2021 20:20

Has the schoolgirl and the Baroness one gone? I've been out all day

PaleBlueMoonlight · 14/06/2021 20:13

That’s the one, thank you.

GIDS being sued by their safeguarding lead. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3961244-GIDS-being-sued-by-their-safeguarding-lead

Is this what you were looking for, PaleBlue?

SpindleWhorl · 14/06/2021 20:11

@PaleBlueMoonlight

Has the other thread been zapped? The one with the tweets from court. I can’t find it. Thanks
The 'GIDS lead' one? It's still there. It may have slipped down the charts, as it were.

Another exceptionally important case.

Good luck Sonia and thank you!

PaleBlueMoonlight · 14/06/2021 13:08

Nine days is a long hearing. There must be an awful lot of material to consider.

Best of luck, Sonia.

Cailleach1 · 14/06/2021 12:58

Sunlight and transparency is always good. As the judge said in this case, just to ensure public confidence. It will be confidential, in any event.

SpindleWhorl · 14/06/2021 12:44

Well the Tavistock aren't going to be happy with that.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/06/2021 12:36

Daily Mail have just put this on line and have linked it to Keira Bell's account of her treatment at the Tavi. Watching with interest to see what, if any, comments are posted.

InvisibleDragon · 14/06/2021 12:27

Looks like the team get to see the unredacted transcripts. That's good news!

Just dug again. Not far off the target now.

Clymene · 14/06/2021 11:57

Just chipped a bit more in. Good luck Sonia

PearPickingPorky · 14/06/2021 11:27

@InvisibleDragon

Do we know if there will be a decision at the end of the 9 days of the hearing? Or will the judgement be 'reserved'?

Keeping everything crossed for SA - this is such an important case

I think often the judges don't know until the end as it depends on what comes out during the hearing and how much time it will take the judge to consider.
