I struggled to even come up with a title for this thread as I am so enraged I know I will get deleted and even banned if I say what I really think.

Forcing female victims of male sexual violence to accept men wherever, whenever and however they go to recover, is one of the vilest things I've ever read.

ArabellaScott · 14/09/2021 13:32
  • barriers in rape crisis services?

if there is one place where barriers are needed it is rape crisis services

anybody blaming rape survivors for how they respond, for anything at all tbh

is an abhorrent individual.

Rape crisis is a kind of emergency service, in my view. When did any paramedic demand to know the faith or politics or philosophy of the person they go to help?

Nobody has any obligation to subscribe to any political or philosophical or faith-based belief in order to access help.

Least of all are women required to be 'inclusive' when it comes to accessing support because of having suffered at the hands of males.

It's the worst, cruellest, most degrading and insulting kind of punishment I can imagine. Gaslighting, abusive, disgusting treatment.

Women won't wheesht, and we will not forget, either.

Helleofabore · 14/09/2021 13:32

Well there is no doubt in my mind what they meant by reframing. They most certainly are referring to traumatised women being re-educated as therapy.

My god it is chilling the disdain this person has for women.

CreepingDeath · 14/09/2021 13:16

Dear God why is this person still in a job? their level of contempt for women is appalling!

And to this from the invite - will highlight their experiences of addressing barriers faced by people of colour and trans survivors in rape crisis services Angry
There's not even a pretence anymore that this person cares about anything other than trans issues. They are there for personal reasons and to try and shoehorn their ideology where it doesn't belong.

And this is the pattern: trans people infiltrating women's spaces, and take over (male entitlement very useful here) so that everything on the agenda is now filtered through the prism of trans. And even mentioning women's issues is problematic! It's disgusting how many people are failing to see this.

Selkiesarereal · 14/09/2021 13:09

My oh is quite prolific on Twitter and just read out Jean’s tweet, quite horrifying.

I wrote to my msp to complain about their appointment to be met with radio silence. The snp are just too powerful so can do what they like with no repercussions -see also still appointing Jayne Godley to voice an ad campaign after they were made aware of her racist tweets back in June. They just don’t care.

WarriorN · 14/09/2021 12:59

Good god what was this meeting?

A male organising rape crisis centre strategy excluding women.

Horrific.

NecessaryScene · 14/09/2021 12:53

Wadwha is clearly riding high and feeling very confident.

Reading too much into it, I think. Wadhwa has to try to brazen this out. It's the only potentially winning strategy for them. Any hint of backing down, or caring about women's rights, just leads to questions that can't be answered. This sort of pontificating and throwing stones is an attempt to avoid questions.

Wadwha can't afford to fold. So just need to keep the spotlight on and keep publishing it to a wider audience, and confronting decision makers with it.

Tibtom · 14/09/2021 12:50

This is what I really hate about virtual meetings - if the organisers don't want a question asked it can be ignored and the participant removed (although they don't normally bother with that step since there is no way to be heard).

Sophoclesthefox · 14/09/2021 12:44

Cleansing rape crisis from focusing on women?

Wow.

That’s really putting the cards on the table, isn’t it? Wadwha is clearly riding high and feeling very confident.

Perpetualnamechanger · 14/09/2021 12:43

Green MSP who also works for Ed rape crisis supports Wadha.

Jaysmith71 · 14/09/2021 12:42

Anonymous questioners will be found, identified and removed.

That'll encourage open debate.

Omg

littlbrowndog · 14/09/2021 12:35

It’s about money and power. Same as for ever

I think wadwha partner has companies who are taking over women’s aids or rape crisis centres due to the way procurement is used.

So all the skills are being ignored

NecessaryScene · 14/09/2021 12:33

Who actually is in charge here? Who is responsible for keeping this vile individual in post?

Someone needs their feet held to the fire and to have to answer questions about everything Wadhul says - make them own it and say whether they support it.

Follow the chain of support all the way up, as far as it takes, and take down every person supporting it.

OvaHere · 14/09/2021 12:30

Just read Jean's thread.

Horrifying. It's dystopian, male supremacy level stuff that is going to force all female focused support back underground setting us back by decades (as if that wasn't always the purpose!)

prudencepuffin · 14/09/2021 12:27

This is a person very determined to hang onto their power base and not too worried about clearing everything from their path that might get in the way. There will NEVER be any listening to other points of view from a person like this.

PatsArrow · 14/09/2021 12:18

That thread of Jeans is utterly terrifying. Seriously, some days I'm so so scared of this shit (in between despair snd anger!)

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 14/09/2021 12:18

Vile. Just vile. The mask is fully off now, they couldn't give a shit about rape victims. It's all about trans.

The end goal is "re-educating" women to accept gender ideology completely and if they won't do it they'll deny them service.

cleansing indeed, fucking sinister Angry

The CEO of a rape charity is basically saying there should be no male free spaces to rape victims ffs!!

I've said this before, they are using their professional role for personal gain, and for this they should be fired. Why hasn't this happened yet? WHY??

Datun · 14/09/2021 12:09

Dear god.

Wadhwa talks about "cleansing" ERCC of transphobia...

@NecessaryScene

Jean Hatchet Twitter thread:

Am in a meeting with Mridul Wadwha. Already want to scream at the things being said by organisers

Just looked at the thread, and I recommend everyone else does too. Unfortunately Jean Hatchet has now been kicked out for asking about single-sex services / Equality Act Hmm
Perpetualnamechanger · 14/09/2021 11:54

Thank you for sharing it here.

Perpetualnamechanger · 14/09/2021 11:53

I was actually reading Jean's thread, which is why I posted.

The whole situation makes me mad.
