I struggled to even come up with a title for this thread as I am so enraged I know I will get deleted and even banned if I say what I really think.

[quote R0wantrees]The board are surprisingly young and there appears a distinct lack of professional skills or experience in areas such as nursing, social, care, law, police, criminal justice, victime support etc

One of them former co-convenor of the Scottish Green Party, wth Patrick Harvie.

It's all so political.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/05/2021 12:38

It's part of teaching us that we are not allowed to have boundaries.

This. This is what is is. This is the endgame of trans activism. Women are not allowed to be uncomfortable or have a female space. Even if abused by males, even when traumatised.

PlanDeRaccordement · 03/05/2021 12:37

@R0wantrees

Thanks for posting that about MW and Sunflower. Especially where she says:

When MW did “counselling” with me, she had no qualifications for this. And not only that, but she was poor at it anyway, she regularly yawned and looked at her phone. She is not a professional person

So it’s clear MW was hired as a box ticking exercise ignoring completely the fact that they are grossly incompetent and unprofessional.

Tibtom · 03/05/2021 12:36

Ah no, confused by an old thread

Tibtom · 03/05/2021 12:35

Does that men their last fraudulently obtained position is now free for a women?

I noticed that too. I would be very concerned if living in Scotland. There is every chance they are going to mismanage funds, implement stupid policies that harm victims instead of helping them, prioritise PR sand activism over helping victims...etc.

From thread above, Sunflowergirl03 wrote, Thu 01-Apr-21

"I know this is an old thread, but having my own negative experiences with this person has led me here. I think some of the main questions that should be asked are: what experience do they have of managing and managing charities specifically? What experience do they have of the VAWG sector? What qualifications do they have? Because I believe they are actually inexperienced for the role which begs the question why were they hired? When MW did “counselling” with me, she had no qualifications for this. And not only that, but she was poor at it anyway, she regularly yawned and looked at her phone. She is not a professional person. She has a huge following and support base but when you scratch the surface there is little substance to her knowledge or experience. How she got a job as a manager when she has never been a manager is bizarre."

studentnewspaper.org/article/an-insight-with-mridul-wadhwa-into-working-in-a-rape-crisis-centre

"The Student asked Wadhwa if she believes a man could be a successful rape crisis centre manager. She does not: “I don’t think men are ready to go out and set up services of this nature. Women’s aid organisations and rape crisis centres have been set up with the blood, sweat, and tears of women. It’s about the women’s experience of sexual violence. Our workforce is reserved for women only.”

The fact that this individual is unable to see the concerns some women have about this appointment, and put themselves forward, indicates they're unable to fully see the female perspective.

It also indicates that the people hiring have no true understanding of women's perspectives either.

Escapeplanning posted this on that thread.

**
Wadhwa was invited to contribute to Maria Miller's 2016 enquiry.

See page 31 where they said the genuine occupational requirement that allows women only jobs is

"discriminatory to transsexual people especially trans women. I genuinely believe that there is no space for it in the gender-based violence sector and that it has no place in violence against women work. I was unaware of its existence until a few weeks ago. I have worked in the violence against women sector since 2005 and have never known for it to be used. I am disappointed to think that someone has the right to refuse work to me and others like me in my sector just because they think that I might not be a woman."

This isn't on the Twitter thread.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 03/05/2021 12:21

Because - Scotland... always a bit sexist, but morphed into positively women hating.

StillFemale · 03/05/2021 12:20

Why advertise for women and quote relevant section of the Equality Act if you’re going to recruit a male Confused

Glad I don’t live in Scotland

toffeebutterpopcorn · 03/05/2021 12:20

Didn’t they fib into get their initial job in the U.K.? Now when I worked in the city, anyone who wasn’t truthful on their CV got the sack.

WarriorN · 03/05/2021 12:18

@ODFOx

Oh come on!

Mridul Wadhwa has been working within the women's shelter system for years. She is eminently experienced and completely suitable for the post.

This isn't a case of trans tokenism causing disadvantage for women. This is someone with all the correct qualifications and experience getting a job they can do well.

And that's fine if they're the best person for the job.

Except the job description says they only want women under the EA.

So that's gaslighting all actual women by saying, from the top, that the ceo will lie to them.

Fernlake · 03/05/2021 12:18

As far as I'm aware, this person did not originally disclose that they were male.

Are the victims of rape now told the sex of this person?

And does it mean a female victim of rape would have been talking to them under the impression that they were female?

Because if so, how is that remotely acceptable?

I'm really hoping some employment law bods will comment on this. Surely you can't advertise a women only permission and then hire a male? Surely that is discriminating against other men who didn't have the balls to apply?

terryleather · 03/05/2021 12:17

Centering MW and any qualifications they might have is ridiculous when the first and most important people to focus on here are the service users, the vulnerable and traumatised women and girls.

Including MW in this situation will make this service mixed sex and immediately exclude many female service users and is therefore unacceptable, but of course that doesn't matter to those pushing their luxury beliefs and genderist bs onto all and sundry against their will.

Once again, the service users are the people who need to be centred here, not MW or those who facilitate this ideology.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 03/05/2021 12:16

To ignore/dismiss/attack women who specifically state that they are scared to use a facility where male bodied people are shows that they are not fit for the job surely?

‘Tough shit’ isn’t the usual response to ‘I feel scared’. She is a lack of empathy and understanding and only a sense of self.

Twistiesandshout · 03/05/2021 12:13

This is appalling. I am disgusted.
