Yes, and that’s recreational golf which can be inclusive and for fun. I can’t drive as far as my DH or teen DS because I’m not as tall as them and don’t have the long levers to deliver the same club head speed (although I can still do a pretty good job and when I hit the ball it stays hit).

But at pro level there is a marked difference in both club head speed and average length of drive between men and women. Women on the LPGA average 250 yds on a drive, men on the PGA average 300 yds. And that’s a big difference when you’re playing for big money.

Well 14 year old boys can beat the Olympic champions at football and break Women's World High Jump records etc so probably not unexpected that they can do moves that even Olympic female gymnasts have difficulty doing.

There is a video somewhere on YouTube of 3 top female gymnasts watching male gymnasts “have a go” at the female only disciplines, the women were shocked that men could perform in minutes or after 1 or 2 goes skills which had taken the women a lifetime of training. Gymnastics definitely needs to separated by sex.

I don't know how the handicap system works in golf but presumably that helps to make it a social sport for players of different ability?

I am not surprised about this. Maybe it is politically self serving given the run or office, but whatever you say, I've never had the impression that Jenner is shy about airing real political views, even when they are controversial. Or is unaware that there are significant physical differences between males and females, whatever the gender business is really about.

Even the wokest of my friends will not accept that my “average trans woman” ex was the same as another woman hitting me. He’s been openly ridiculed and actually threatened for it so not sure how it’s different if it’s an organised competition

Given that many women here have been campaigning for a long time for a return to single sex protections for girls and women's sport, it is more accurate to state that Jenner is finally aligning with us.

I think this statement is incredibly revealing and misogynistic. Don't patronise the women of FWR. Men and trans women do not know what it feels like to give birth, have period pains so bad it makes you cry and you are prescribed iron, have hormonal bloating that makes you not want to go for a run today. Do they know what the menopause feels like? Or what it feels like to go for a smear test?
