I have been a lurker on mm for years first time to start a thread.

I just want to thank you all for these threads, you have encouraged me to look deeper find the hidden agendas ask hard questions.

In general giving me another side so I can think for myself instead of constant bias.

I'm in Ireland and this year I bought a women bag and next is the woman 👕

Hi Dublin. Another Irish poster here- lovely to know there are like minded people on the island!

Womansisterdaughtermother · 30/04/2021 19:54

@saltedcaramelchocolate yes we are utterly politically homeless! Terrible isn't it!!! I know our UK sisters here have similar feelings. I would vote Tory if I lived in UK just purely because of Baroness Nicholson. If we can't define woman, literally there is no point in any other fights.

Womansisterdaughtermother · 30/04/2021 19:47

Yeah Dublin I have been feeling that way many times. Lately I have confided in a few of my longest standing friends and my sister... And they still love me and also now agree with me. Its so good here on mn isn't it... The sanity of it here X

Hey Dublin Smile.

Welcome Dublin.

@Dublincailin
Welcome. I am an Irish poster too. I have learnt so much about Self ID here on MN. Despite living in Ireland I never knew Self ID was in Ireland until I read about it here!
It is simply never mentioned in the MSM in Ireland.
I am still staggered that not one single politician objected to completely redefining the meaning of the word Woman in 2015 when they voted for Self ID. It didn't seem to occur to them that this would have an impact on the rights of half the population.
I do feel politically homeless atm, but I think as people are becoming more aware of what is happening, more people are speaking up,. Eventually they will have to start listening.
I haven't met a single person who supports Self ID.

@Womansisterdaughtermother

Conas atá tú? It feels very lonely here in Ireland been on the other side.

Hi @Dublincailin.... Conas atá tú? Im a Dublin cailín too and I've started posting here too just since Easter X

So nice to hear this. We all benefit from MNHQ letting us (most of the time!) share our opinions and ideas.

And it has allowed those of us not in Ireland to find out about the great work that Irish Women's Lobby is doing! irishwomenslobby.ie/

MNHQ FWR should do one of those google maps showing how far and wife the viper's nest is. Smile

I pressed post too soon, I say that a survivor of the mother & baby homes I am a living part of the latest scandal.

And it will be a future scandal, pumping kids with all sorts and no idea of the effects years down the road.

INE, the most intolerant people are the left.

I'm willing to listen, willing to take what they say on board be open to changing my mind.

But the left is completely closed. Their beliefs end of.

I was listening to a show during the week and a listener came on stating they wanted their children brought up in the school of their faith, entirely their choice. Not harming anyone.

They were attacked the only argument was it is 2021, not 1921. Get with the times etc.

It's frightening how indoctrinated they are and they cannot see it. It seems to me I am watching the next major scandal.

I say that as a mother & baby home survivor.

Hi, Dublin. Smile

@EmbarrassingAdmissions

we’re all nasty Brits on here

Nest of vipers, if you please. And, frankly, if that is what it takes during these times…

Ah I know, it’s just another way they have found to dismiss women’s voices and pretend there’s no problem in Ireland

Hi Dublin. It's really nice to see these type of threads. Tbh I'm a newcomer to it all too (last few months) and have recently been complemented on my knowledge of eg the Equality Act.

It's all thanks to MNetters. Smile

Glad to hear it, the message the woke lads in Ireland push is that we’re all nasty Brits on here Hmm

Hello, Dublincailin. Lovely to meet you. There are some amazing women here.

NotTerfNorCis · 30/04/2021 18:04

Hi Dublincailin, great to meet you!

I'm so glad Mumsnet exists. It's pretty much the only place we can discuss certain issues now.
