I actually murmured an obscenity when I read this. I don't have any interest in what gender they are, they are incredibly annoying.

AMCoffeePMWine · 24/04/2021 02:28

I’ve just been on Caitlyns site. No information on policies and their politics, but two large buttons to SHOP and DONATE.

Just listening to Jenner being discussed on the World Service, it's very confusing to me to hear someone I perceive as male to be repeatedly referred to as "she",

As a woman who wants to see and hear about more successful female politicians my brain reacts badly to the cognitive dissonance.

Anyway, they were comparing Jenner to Schwarzenegger, apparently he had married into the Kennedy family so was involved in politics for a while before standing, in contrast to Jenner who.was married to a tv celebrity family.

NotBadConsidering · 23/04/2021 22:37

Gender confirmation surgery could just mean a “feminising” face lift. It’s a vague term.

AdHominemNonSequitur · 23/04/2021 21:28

Does a boob job count?

Zeev · 23/04/2021 21:18

@Annasgirl

To my knowledge Jenner has never transitioned. Just to keep it factual.
Jenner did claim Jenner had "gender confirmation surgery" in 2017.
AdHominemNonSequitur · 23/04/2021 21:03

We have our very own Caitlin in the UK. Even has political aspirations and sporting aptitude.

titchy · 23/04/2021 20:59

Yeah but Jenner conveniently de-transitions when they want to play golf Hmm Says it all really.

Zeev · 23/04/2021 20:50

@ThorFull

Jenner has come out against gay marriage?

I just can’t get my head around this person.

Jenner said, on 'Ellen' or some other talk show, "I kind of like tradition and it's always been a man and a woman". Jenner had already transitioned by then.

I kid you not!

I expect Jenner has later realigned Jenner's views but I haven't really kept up with the Kardashians so to speak.

Roomba · 23/04/2021 20:46

She'll be running for VP next with Mr Garrison. Now that's female empowerment!

HermitsLife · 23/04/2021 20:39

This is all about the attention of course.

Poor America, its totally fucked

Zeev · 23/04/2021 20:37

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

I don't really follow American politics - can anyone explain to me why some trans people are so against Jenner running?
Jenner is a republican who has come out against gay marriage and who is a Trump supporter. Jenner may be under the umbrella but Jenner is generally not a friend to the LGBTQ+ (do forgive me if I forget a letter, it is hard to keep up).
PronounssheRa · 23/04/2021 20:30

Same old, same old

Are you saying white wealthy privileged republican running for governor isn't progess for underrepresented minorities. Shocked I tell ya, shocked. 🤣

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2021 20:20

@EndoplasmicReticulum

Well the USA is yet to have a woman president so there's an opportunity there for somebody.
I think this is for governor of California, but I believe they've also all been men so far. I suppose they've had some celebrities before - if actors and body builders why not a decathlete sleb? Same old, same old.
ChewtonRoad · 23/04/2021 20:00

But not driving Grin Buckle up, buckaroo!

CovidCorvid · 23/04/2021 19:09

What isn’t needed is another Trump supporting, MAGA spouting red neck republican......oh dear.

Who better than Woman Of the Year?

@Mn753

Sure. We always need more women in politics.
Hmm

Gregorsgirl · 23/04/2021 18:36

Does anyone think that these people (Jenner, Trump,Bush) who get into power actually do anything? Surely they just realise that they are figureheads and have no real power Confused

Erkrie · 23/04/2021 18:35

ShockGrin

Mn753 · 23/04/2021 18:33

That's women for you
