Donated. (Not much, but it all helps.)

All these oranisations that claim to support dysphoric young people - and then they put Keira through the mill yet again. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Erkrie · 24/04/2021 10:34

She was devastated by the effects on her body yes, and wants to make sure other girls don't needlessly have to suffer and go through the same terrible experience. Nothing to do with TRANSgirls though. As transgirls are biological males. Obviously males are supposed to experience the effects of testosterone on their bodies as they go through puberty.

Keira is a hero. And I have donated.

SciFiScream · 24/04/2021 10:29

Shizuku - that's not quite the winning point you want it to be.

Afternoon one of the cases is on hold pending the outcome of the Cass review. It relates to the affirmation model, the idea that young people mustn't be questioned about their gender identity thereby sending children down the almost certain route of transition without question. Children and young people must be allowed to question their feelings so that if transition is the route, it is more likely to be the best route for them.

Both cases are really important

AfternoonToffee · 24/04/2021 07:27

Thank you pigling

Greencoatblue · 23/04/2021 23:39

Just donated and nearly gave a fiver to CrowdJustice but stopped my fingers just in time! Will now donate that fiver to Keira Smile

PiglingBlandIII · 23/04/2021 23:19

@EdgeOfACoin

Donated. If you do, don't forget to remove the tip for CrowdJustice.
For those that haven't seen the history, this is related to the shocking treatment that Allison received from CJ.

Her crowdfunder to sue Stonewall went to £60k in a matter of hours and then CJ took it down under some ridiculous pretext that I think breached their own rules and didn't reinstate it.

Allison has since built her own fundraising website - you can't keep a strong woman down!

SpringCrocus · 23/04/2021 23:12

Got the email, dug again, sans tip.
Bastards, all ganging up on Keira😡

yourhairiswinterfire · 23/04/2021 22:55

Donated. I don't see how any child has competence to consent to giving away their fertility.

Madness, isn't it? Women who want hysterectomies can be refused.

Grown women are being treated like kids who don't know their own minds, and young children are being treated like adults wise enough to know for certain how they'll feel about their decision in years to come.

OldCrone · 23/04/2021 22:37

But why Liberty? Do they think it's a human right for children to be able to have unnecessary experimental medical treatment to which they are incapable of giving fully informed consent?

AfternoonToffee · 23/04/2021 22:21

@Heidi1982

WTF are Brooke playing at intervening in this case? Or Liberty for that matter?
I think Brook is because some Foxy person has convinced them that the ruling over rules Gillick.

I dug there, it's a massive deal, this appeal case. Thanks OP

I'm just there now, why's that?
AfternoonToffee · 23/04/2021 19:15

What's the two different CJ pledges for? One at 50k and then the bigger one currently standing at 73k?

DisappearingGirl · 23/04/2021 17:47

Thanks, I've donated again. I think this is so important.

I can't believe Keira and Mrs A are having to do this. It should be health services and governments around the world taking a serious look at this, not two individuals having to do it. I am happy to fund it as much as I can, to protect future children.

Warmduscher · 23/04/2021 17:36

Oh, “and Liberty” should be on the next line Blush

Warmduscher · 23/04/2021 17:35

Association of Lawyers for Children and Liberty.

Is that a real organisation?

AnyOldPrion · 23/04/2021 17:28

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

I think costs are escallating

Yep. I think there are now 7 organisations involved against Keira and Mrs A:

University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust,
Brook,
Gendered Intelligence,
The Endocrine Society,
Association of Lawyers for Children and Liberty.

I was pretty sure the fox killer wanted to get involved too, but his mob don't seem to be on the list.

He sent the Endocrine Society didn’t he? And maybe a couple of the others?

Pretty awful that there are so many of them ranged against her. Thanks for the heads up, AdHom.

CorvusPurpureus · 23/04/2021 17:24

Digging.

ArabellaScott · 23/04/2021 17:16

ta. will donate.
