The relevance of your list to what is happening in Spain is what exactly? Shall we do a list of all the women who have been gang raped and murdered in India, Shizuku, is that the game you are now playing?

MsMcWibble · 04/04/2021 18:57

Very odd post, Shizuku. I just can't work out what connection those deaths have to GC feminists.

334bu · 04/04/2021 18:56

**Parliamentarian Helen Newlove said 55 women in Britain suffered non-fatal strangulation every day, and a woman or girl was fatally strangled or asphyxiated every 10 days.

Non-fatal strangulation can lead to brain damage, internal bleeding, neurological injuries such as facial droop, loss of memory and strokes.**

Cis privilege?

Number of transwomen killed in UK 0

CardinalLolzy · 04/04/2021 18:55

I would find that threatening too. So we're all agreed that women have the right to put boundaries in place to protect themselves from violence?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 04/04/2021 18:54

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 04/04/2021 18:53

@toffeebutterpopcorn

Also mostly countries where women are raped and murdered so often it’s barely noticed.
Only male women matter, apparently 🤷‍♀️

Those deaths are horrific Shizuku.

Male perpetrators, or feminists?

Erkrie · 04/04/2021 18:46

I would find both less threatening than actually being hanged/strangled like these trans women were

Indeed. It's fortunate that the UK is a safe place for transwomen isn't it. These countries that you list are incredibly violent to many different people. Sadly in the UK, women still experience high levels of violence / are killed, by men, every single day.

Shizuku · 04/04/2021 18:45

@334bu

You stated that sex≠ gender was an example of cis privilege or was it my not finding it threatening an example of my " cis" privilege? Could you explain what you meant? Thank you.
You needing an explanation of why it's threatening is cis privilege. To any trans person, it's obvious.

You have stats?

The glass/perspex cover over the memorial plaque to Cristina Ortiz was sprayed and then successfully cleaned up a month ago.

I’m happy to condemn vandalism. And I’m glad you don’t approve of what was done to Vancouver Rape Relief.

This thread is a masterclass in whataboutery.
Well, yes. That's exactly what you were doing in your OP. The overwhelming majority of vandalism isn't coming from our side. It's yours. Instead of racing on here to finger wag at women over a rare example of GC spray painting, I suggest you focus your efforts on cleaning up your own movement.
Shizuku · 04/04/2021 18:27

@Erkrie

What we do seem to be missing though is any condemnation by you of the vandalism of the memorial to a trans woman

I believe lots of people here have condemned that behaviour. I condemn any vandalism of memorials belonging to a transwomen or any other human being.

Indeed, but not by the person who was criticising me for not condemning the dead rat - which is the actual point I was making.

You must've somehow missed the many posts that condemned the graffiti. Go back through the thread and look, you'll be pleasantly surprised I'm sure. BTW, which would you find most threatening, a life size effigy of yourself hung from a tree, or some graffiti?

@EmpressWitchDoesntBurn

It is interesting that the people who rushed to condemn the graffiti aren’t coming back to condemn the dead rat etc.
Very happy to condemn the dead rat for you, along with any violent threats made to anyone. Of course I already condemned the violent threats and I assumed you would assume that someone who condemns violent threats would oppose nailing rats to anything, but clearly you didn't make that leap so here I am, condemning the dead rat and very happy to do so.

What we do seem to be missing though is any condemnation by you of the vandalism of the memorial to a trans woman. Did I just miss your post somehow, or are you actually criticising me for not doing what you didn't do?

MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 04/04/2021 18:21

Yes, so I hear

Erkrie · 04/04/2021 18:15

Well words are literal violence doncha know.

MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 04/04/2021 18:15

Alright then, will anyone explicitly state that they believe political graffiti from women is as bad and as frightening as men creating effigies of actual women and hanging them from a tree?
Or will the person who started the thread stop short of saying that? And if so, why?
