Re the hunting thing, I've always felt pretty safe around gay men. It's very disturbing to think of them hunting me for my reproductive capabilities.

If A Handmaid's Tale was released today, I'd have to email the author to work out whether to shelve it in speculative fiction or erotic fantasy.

I miss being able to tell the difference between satire and people's sincerely held opinions.

If womb transplants into males became possible, OJ and co wouldn't need transwomen - they could gestate for themselves.

A pp clearly enjoys telling women we're about to become obsolete, because tw will jump at the chance to provide womb services for gay men.

But as lesbian posters have made clear, women actually have our own agendas. The idea that women gain worth from serving men is the most male fantasy of femaleness ever.

The more I think about using the word hunting the angrier I get.

Women and girls are taught, essentially, that we are prey, from a young age. We get a vast amount of messages constantly that danger lurks, predators are about, and we should go through life with this in mind.

Whatever we think of that message is beside the point (another thread!).

But in the context of women's lives, and thinking about it, the recent well publicised murder of a woman who was killed by a predator (man).

And in the end why is he hunting a lesbian couple? My guess is that they would have the honour of continuing his DNA. And would do all the child rearing. And he'd pop round from time to time with a gift (they'd cook him dinner or otherwise host him, I'm sure is how it works in his head). And he'd get some nice pics for his social media.

No, it's not homophobia. Women would have the same sort of negative response to any man who referred to 'hunting broody lesbians', or 'hunting for a broody woman'. Though in OJs case there's the added hypocrisy and double standards.

There are many cases of excellent co-parenting arrangements involving gay men. I'm going to bet they're based on mutual respect.
