I didn't know where else to put this so apologies if not the right place but I think this board will provide some good knowledge.

On the surface I'm thinking this is all a positive thing but then when you consider the definition provided by Stonewall on what being trans is then surely this housing would be open to all? How would someone prove they were entitled to live in a specific community like this? After all self ID says we are who we say we are, no debate. Does anyone know anything about the one already in Brighton and how that works?

Its an interesting idea. But wouldn't it make homophobic / transphobic attacks easier in the sense that you'd know everyone there was LGBT+
Torn in that respect.

I think if those seeking specific accommodation based on their sexuality then there will have to be some wider conversations and yes, Self ID would come into it if they look at the other protected characteristics.

This refugee was housed with those of a similar cultural background but appealed the decision.

If men can have accommodation with other gay men, then women can have it with other women right? If not why not?

How do you prove a person is gay? I suppose it’s all done purely on a self ID basis as nothing else would make sense. They are probably relying on the lingering stigma within that age group to prevent false applications.

You could just stop worrying about other people's business and chill out? Just an option.
