Am I overthinking this? Something sinister in Emojis - Frequently Used Unicorns with Rainbow horns?

This has bugged me for a while..... my iPhone has two lots of Frequently used Emojis ... a group which I genuinely do frequently use, and before that a group of eight unicorns, all with rainbow horns, doing various things ... snoozing, sunglasses, etc.

I've always thought weird ... and then my sister accidentally sent me a unicorn.

So....

  1. Does anyone else have this? Is it just an iPhone phenomenon or wider
  2. Why have random unicorns been chosen...especially given the most recent associations with them..... I feel like I'm being subliminally indoctrinated

My “frequently used” emoji list has the Memojis first. If I press the ... button, I can then select the unicorns. But they don’t then show as default in that list.

I have never sent a unicorn emoji to anyone. A while ago, my phone changed things around, and now when I go to emojis it added a group of emojis to the left of my actual most-used emojis. The new emojis were all rainbow unicorns. I have just looked again, and now it also includes a dinosaur and a shark, as well as 6 rainbow unicorns (I haven’t ever sent a shark emoji either, and may have sent a dinosaur one, but unlikely). These are clearly not ‘frequently used’ by me - I assumed it was maybe a ‘these are the most popular emojis in use’ section, but it has always annoyed me that I have a group of emojis labelled ‘frequently used’ on my phone which I have never used.

It it your ‘memoji’ section? I have it before my actual frequently used emojis. Maybe unicorn is the default?

Not on my iPhone 6s.

My 'frequently used' starts with my memojis (though I haven't used them in months) and is followed by my most recently used emojis. The most recently used block changes as I use them, but the memojis stay the same.

Could you have created a set of unicorn memojis and forgotten about them?
