Oh I can't even be bothered. Same old story, virtue signalling, buy our product bla bla bla.

Another one off the shopping list

Catabogus
Great thank you!

SapphosRock · 24/03/2021 18:55

Oh I actually think that Pantene advert is quite sweet ❤️

Not every child is so lucky to have unconditional love.

Catabogus · 24/03/2021 14:13

@FemaleAndLearning

Catabogus That one is out if stock! I want to go plastic free in the bathroom. Just ordered some sissal bags for soap described by a previous poster. When you use bar shampoo do you still need to get a bar conditioner? A previous poster shared Ethique from Holland and Barrett and they do conditioner bars too.
Ah, sorry! It’s available at Holland and Barratt though: www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/faith-in-nature-shampoo-bar-lavender-geranium-60038895?skuid=038895&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=nonbrand&gclsrc=aw.ds&&&gclid=CjwKCAjwxuuCBhATEiwAIIIz0boESHYpQBnwXkXgutCq_MYvJwlik8S4bKd2RVRTM2R6bo67eAeYHxoCaVMQAvD_BwE

(Oops sorry long link!)

You can also get bar conditioner or a refillable bottle.

Dulcinae · 24/03/2021 11:32

I used bar shampoo followed by bar conditioner originally, but didn't think the conditioner did much. I use bar shampoo alone now.

My favourite so far has been the Lush honey one. I'm currently using Alter / Native Rose and Geranium. Each bar lasts months so I haven't tried many different ones in the 3 years since I switched to bars.

@EyesOpening

yep, I haven't used Pantene for donkey's years, since my hairdresser got to the bottom of my hair looking greasy on top after one day, she said it's well known in hairdressing circles, build up of silicone, I think she said
I too was warned against Pantene by a hairdresser years' ago for this very reason. Whether or not it was/is true, I have never purchased their products, particularly as there are so many other brands to choose from. More's the pity though, as I wish I could say I will never purchase Pantene again etc etc
Catabogus · 24/03/2021 10:26

These Faith in Nature bar shampoos are quite nice - no SLS and no plastic! www.faithinnature.co.uk/products/lavender-geranium-shampoo-bar/finshampsoaplav.aspx?productid=finshampsoaplav

FlippinNoah · 24/03/2021 09:56

Please can someone tell me what 'super gender creative' means? 🤦🏼‍♀️

BriocheForBreakfast · 24/03/2021 09:45

I stopped using Pantene years ago - it was making my hair look heavy and greasy.

MondayYogurt · 24/03/2021 09:39

Gives me itchy scalp anyway

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 24/03/2021 09:09

Pantene is crap. You have to scrap the plastic coating off your hair to remove it

@Lordamighty

Avoiding Pantene is an easy choice because it is a terrible shampoo.
Yup. I haven't used it for decades.
FemaleAndLearning · 23/03/2021 22:24

Do kids nag their parents to buy certain brands of shampoo? Mine don't. I can't understand who the target audience is in the advert.

NiceGerbil · 23/03/2021 19:43

The other two women are strong, powerful.

With all of this it's so odd to connect female strength and perseverance with having long swishy hair :/

Juliesipadwillcallyouback · 23/03/2021 16:58

More stereotypical horseshit about living as a girl being all about long hair and pink. Yaaawwwwwn.

Pantene is utter shite anyway, so no worries there!

TheBuffster · 23/03/2021 15:21

Pantene hate animals as well as women.

Pantene is not certified cruelty-free. Also, PETA lists Pantene as an animal testing company.

That and it's awful shampoo.

SingToTheSky · 23/03/2021 14:07

It’s not surprising - their business model is based on the idea that women must have long swishy hair.

Unless they’re lesbian mums, obv. Then short hair all the way!

ArabellaScott · 23/03/2021 13:39

Fab, thanks so much! I am intrigued by the idea of soap bars. Trying to phase out plastic one thing at a time. Smile

Akela64 · 23/03/2021 13:30

@arabellaScott I use the heyland and whittle sisal bag for body. Soap is amazing. Simply replace the soap when needed. Its usually in their sale at half price. Soap lasts at least 6 weeks and bag for over a year.

Shampoo and condition are ethique from Holland and Barrett. Pricey, (£12.50) but again I buy when they are on offer and got 2 for 1 after christmas. Next time might try bain-savon.co.uk. Good reviews from good housekeeping

@ArabellaScott

Coats the hair in plastic, no?

Yes. It is pretty rank stuff.

SunsetBeetch · 23/03/2021 10:36

@newyearnewname123

Long hair. That's what being a girl involves.
But I thought it wasn't about stereotypes? I'm surprised that Pantene aren't being called transphobic...

I think it's strange to use a child for such an advert. Hardly their target market.

diege · 23/03/2021 10:24

There's a note on the wall in my hairdressers stating that that Pantene-users need to let their stylists know, as any colour treatments will often not 'take' due to the build up of silicon on the hair when using. Good stuff! 🤣

yourhairiswinterfire · 23/03/2021 10:17

@ArabellaScott

Now there's a tagline, winterfire! -

'like wearing a greasy wig'

You're welcome, Pantene, I waive my copywriter fees for you on this occassion.
